His act is always similar, pushing himself and his audience to the limit (and past) acceptability. The best stand up working today.

Very similar lineup of topics compared to Shameless; being fat, marriage, his daughter, controversial, etc.. but he manages to pull of the jokes without seeming too repetitive. My favorite part (of both movies) is the bit about being a white male lol. Brilliant social commentary there. Although Shameless produced more moments of laughter for me, I have a feeling that had I watched Chewed Up first, this would have been my favorite of the two.

It's a nipple joke. There, I saved you an hour. Not bad, but the man has evolved so much since this was filmed, it almost seems hacky. His daughters probably aren't even assholes anymore.

I consider this pretty much just as good as his previous special "Shameless." I laughed just as much and felt just as entertained. It's not better but it's no worse either, and usually comedians seem to lose a bit of the edge with their second special. However Louis keeps up the humour int his. Basically put if you liked Shameless you'll like this. If you've never seen Shameless but don't mind dirty, but hilarious, stand-up comedy give this a go.

Making derogatory jokes at homosexuals and expressing unrepentant homophobia to get a laugh is not something anyone should take pride in, much less open their special with. Turned me off the whole thing, which is a shame, because I've liked other stuff by him.

It feels like he's trying a little too hard to push buttons in the first ten minutes or so when he talks about epithets, but he soon settles into a humorous rhythm. A good half of it is about being a parent, which when it comes to comedians I normally find loathsome, but he approaches it in a uniquely cynical and scathing way that makes it surprisingly funny.

Made me laugh for a few times, but really nothing exceptional or new. Average.

A lot of the same stuff as Shameless. Fortunately it's still so hilarious and well-presented that it does not feel repetitive.

It's okay but far from his best. I would probably enjoy this more if I was older, fatter, and whiter.

Starts off by arguing why we should say the word 'faggot', and it stays as hilarious and shocking and, in the weird segment of the brain, thought-provoking throughout the entire special.

"I do like finding out where the line is drawn, deliberately crossing it, bringing some of them with me across the line, and having them be happy that I did."-George Carlin Pretty sure Louis CK lives by these words and I'm very happy he brought me across that line.

Not as mind-blowingly hilarious as Shameless, but it still establishes Louis C.K. as arguably the funniest man on the planet.

Louie Louie Louie LOU-AH! Louis is great at what he does, which is make people laugh. The guy who says "making derogatory jokes at homosexuals" seems to have missed the point of that entire bit, by the way.

Not nearly as funny as shameless. A huge disappointment.

Louis chews up his own material from Shameless and actually makes it funnier, I found. It might have been the other way around, had I watched Shameless first.

Even though it feels like he (and others) have covered some of the same ground before, it's done impeccably here. One of the all time great stand up specials.

Nothing is off limits. I think that he believes that everything is funny depending on how you attack it. I think I laughed very hard at some jokes.

For some reason Louis has been hailed as this comedy mesiah but in reality he's pretty average. Nothing groundbreaking or too original. The only thing he's got going for him is that he's a lovable loser.

Louis C.K. goes through his usual schtick (life with his daughters, getting fat, wanking, etc.) along with some cracking pieces on insults, ankle injuries, and the major difference between men and women. There are quiet bits - and it's not as good as Shameless - but as an hour-long stand up it's definitely recommended.
