Monty Python's Flying Circus

The foundation of my sense of humor, thus probably the important piece of culture in my entire upbringing.

My second favorite skit show, there are definitely skits that don't work but they had the balls to try them, because no one had before.

Sometimes, when the right group of people get together they do something that has never been done before and will never be done after. Monty Python is such a show.

One of my favourite, pointless, irreverent, absurd and generally educational shows. I now know how to identify a larch tree from quite a far way away while not being seen.

More miss than hit but the ones that work are spectacular. There are some compilations of best skits - probably funnier to watch it that way.

Lots of hit and miss for me but I guess I'm lacking a lot of reference from that time period and some are very English. But some of those sketches are legendary.

The influence of Monty Python on comedy is indisputable. Their surreal, absurd brand of humour is not only peerless but also deeply satirical, intrinsically unconventional, wholly and multiply subversive. Several of the sketches found herein are, simply put, strokes of genius, written and performed to excellence by the independent, self-contained sextet. However, it is rather hard to overlook the amounts of filler material included in most of the episodes and even more so in the final season.

Watched two episodes, didn't get a single laugh from me. The movies are much funnier.

If you watch a best of compilation, there is a lot of great material. But a typical episode has at least as many misses as hits.

Honestly, I only remember the good bits but there was a lot of weak stuff too,
