Overall it was an entertaining show. The story was engaging and the characters entertaining. Though it felt at times like the show was trying to take itself too seriously.

Quite an excellent deconstruction of toxic masculinity. James Gunn really knows how to write abuse dynamics and also difficult and redeemable characters. Really loved the whole team on this and I found the edgy humor hilarious. It never punches down, the punches go exactly where they need to go in this one. I particularly loved seeing Danielle Brooks in this and Jennifer Holland was a standout for me as well.

This is waaay too much John Cena for me to handle. I forced myself to finish the first season.

A welcome change of tone and pace from the generally sterile Disney Plus Marvel series. Peacemaker the series takes Cena's odd but memorable character from Gunn's Suicide Squad and continues his story in a 8 episode season run. With a love for 80's Hair Metal, an all time great opening credit sequence and the joy that is Eagley, Peacemaker the series sees Cena expand on his character and prove his comedic chops. However JG's writing isn't his best work and this holds the show back from greatness

Has a stuttering start, but hits its stride mid-season. Well cast, good fun.

That this and 'The Suicide Squad' is hands down the best things in the DC Extended Universe (or wait, does 'The Batman' count?) says next to nothing, but both were really nice surprises for me. It's a super entertaining romp, and the energetic cast makes their fun characters shine. Gunn is on a roll.

You go have your romantic meeting with the hot Kardashian, invite Einstein for dinner or ask Jesus Christ any question about this world or the next. I just want to hang out with James Gunn in a basement somewhere, drink beer and listen to music. Every single cast member of 'Peacemaker' is welcome too.

Everything about this series comes together with absolute perfection thanks to John Cena and his delivery. He jumps from raunchy humor to deep reflection and proves he has the chops to hang in the game. Gunn is also on point from a writing perspective as he wrote every episode and crafted a plot with a deeper meaning than any of us saw coming. The best DC show to date and its not really even up for debate.

Gunn really knows how to make a group of misfits fun and unique. The ensamble cast is great from top to bottom and they way Gunn films action is gloriously gory and satisfying. His comedic writing here is extremely hit and miss though,I found myself countless times rolling my eyes at a painfully long joke that was not only unfunny but it also undercut pivotal emotional moments. Some character relationships also felt forced but(in typical Gunn fashion)its emotional hits are actually really strong.

Two and a half episodes in and I think I've had enough. I already thought Cena was the weak link in The Suicide Squad, and this just confirms it. I don't think he's very funny and I don't buy him at all in the dramatic scenes. But also, Gunn's writing is just not in top form here. Every joke goes on for way too long and rambles like bad improv. At least half the jokes are complete misses, and the rest aren't anything great. There's no tightness here, with everything drawn out as much as possible

This has been a REALLY enjoyable watch 4 episodes in. James Gunn has managed to do the best world building and redemption arks in the DCEU. with two properties. Will continue to watch. EDIT - finished and loved it. One of the better new shows of the last few years.

Its not bad at all, but the same creative team could do literally any other character to make a show about and I would like it more. The humor needs to chill tho, 98% of the jokes are nails on chalkboard bad.
