Genre-defining TV that knows how to make the best of its medium. What starts out as a procedural "crime of the week" show slowly and intelligently builds into one of finest pieces of near-future sci-fi. A superb cast combined with confident and original storytelling make this one of my favourite shows of the past 10 years. [Update after the final episode]: Perfection. They could not have finished this show better than they did in the shortened final seaon.

It's unbelievable how often this show is on its A-game. Once it gets going, every third ep or so is a series classic. One of my favorite eps is ranked 59th on imdb and I can't contest its placement. Even the lulls are great, I have a low tolerance for standalone eps but this show consistently manages to get me invested in the stories of people I'll never see again. Don't be turned off by the network procedural trappings because beneath them is a smart, highly relevant & seriously intense show.

Much better than I expected. Really was at the forefront of the data mining and surveillance state era we are in right now. The season long plots are generally delicious and there is a surprising number of good standalones. This was before Jonathan Nolan went up his own ass a lot with Westworld and has simpler/ more effective storytelling. Amy Acker steals the whole show, she is perfect as always as Root. I even like Caviezel's dead eyes delivery for some reason.

Watched a good number of the first series but it never really seemed to 'grow' or make the most of it's premise, happy to be an equaliser where computers are the answer to everything like in buffy...

Utterly fun and enjoyable, I miss these kinds of tv shows. You can watch them sporadically in a year or so, and have a fun time.

too much dragging and unrealistic after few seasons.

Watched more than 20 episodes of this, after 10th or so I started skipping to important plot episodes instead of going one by one through the slog of procedural episodes. But, it wasn't getting better. I think my issue with show is that I didn't find any of the characters likable. They are all very one dimensional and acting is flat, especially main protagonists who behave like robots. Premise is not very believable either and same trick of last moment rescue is often reused throughout the show.

One of the most accurate technology related shows I've ever seen. Also, a lot of foreshadowing, and great attention to detail among episodes.

Splendidly made! Good characters. However, I am not a fan of action films, nor of information being delivered in a short span of time that is necessary to comprehend to keep track of the plot. Additionally, the unrealistic elements such as an omniscient "machine," a hero with occasional superpowers who can easily eliminate a room full of people, and leave no trail for the police to follow, detract from my motivation to spend mental energy to keep track of the plot.

Meaningful characters and genuine emotion throughout. The show starts a little slow with a lot of number of the week episodes. However by the end of season one things have started moving a bit faster and the show begins exploring in earnest the philosophical issues of having an AI watching, protecting, and sometimes controlling us without our knowledge. Smartly written with some well-timed humor and one-liners.

Person of Interest supports a great cast who are enjoyable to watch, and a plethora of familiar faces who determine the tone of the episode. The entire show is primarily procedural, though overarching storylines are blended in seamlessly, though they are of varying quality. The show never really shakes its clunkiness, peaking in its 3rd season, but it never ceases to provide some form of entertainment up to the gripping end.

Wanted to a give bit better score, but the last season just wasn't that good. Same goes to the previous season too to some extent. If I remember correctly this worked better when it was more in the "crime of the week" format.
