Does Sabrina the Teenage Witch hold up to modern standards? Probably not. Is it a product of it's time with the unnecessary celebrity cameos, shoehorned bits and childish silliness? Absolutely. Does that lessen the nostalgia of a simpler time for me? Not in the slightest. The show was funny, and when I revisit the odd episode, it still is. Bakay nails it as the voice of Salem. The first 3 seasons are better than the last 3. It's entertainment that isn't preachy, just jun.

Every generation gets a pop culture reboot of the acceptable astroturfed rebellion of women in the form of a suburban witch show. This was the 90s answer to Bewitched: we see some improvement, tho oddly regressive in contrast to I Dream of Jeanie (a literal slave to her beloved wish-maker?). Sabrina doesn’t cowtow to the one she loves, the cowtows to the whole of social pressures of orthodoxy. She doesn’t ever really question anything. Not to mention the chowderhead plot holes.

Remembering my childhood... Still nice to watch, when you consider it a product of its time.

A largely unfunny and generic 90s sitcom. God knows how we watched it for so long.

When I was younger I was really into crappy sitcoms like this during the early 2000's. Hell, I even named one of my cats Salem when I was a kid. But in retrospective, this show was absolutely terrible - the jokes were phoned in and unfunny and the leads had about as much charisma as a piece of wood. The only memorable thing about the show is the weird puppet used for Salem and his sarcastic (albeit, unfunny) performance by Nick Bakay.

Another Hart vehicle interesting only to children who like magic in the sort of way that allows them to tolerate being bored.

Absolute junk, but I had the hots for Harvey as a kid soooooooo (he will still never be as good as MPG in Saved by the Bell though just saying). ¯\_(?)_/¯ I don't fucking know what this review is anymore.

Wow, Criticker's new TV options are giving me so many "Oh yeah, that show existed, didn't it?" moments.

I quite enjoyed this as a teenager. The aunts and Salem were the best parts of it. It went downhill when Sabrina moved away from them. Instead of a cute show about an awkward girl in school with cool powers, it became some uninteresting university romance. The ending didn't make up for that crap.

Not a terrible premise for a 90s show, but it ran out of ideas really quickly. Melissa Joan Hart and Caroline Rhea are both likeable enough, though.

i never found it funny but my best friend would come around every week to watch it, she'd then talk all the way through about her crush on MJH. Took an embarrassing number of episodes before I realised what was going on.
