If you're a Pratchett-fan a must-see movie. The movie doesn't reach the level of the book, but I guess that's nearly impossible. Othwerwise a quite entertaining movie, I hope more will follow.

It's... cozy, for lack of a better word. Pacing's off and it completely misses on the comedy aspect, though.

Great cast, great production values and a good Pratchetty feel, but the pacing is glacial at times and the wizards are just... wrong.

A decent story, more budget than you'd expect, talented actors, and a surprisingly good score. Unfortunately, the pacing and script are pretty painful. They were reeeally stretching to get part 2 up to 90 minutes.

Pitch perfect casting if you ask me. Very fun.

It's silly and often cheap (and the casting director evidently hated Asian people), but it's got heart, a certain amount of earnest charm, and Tim Curry as a conniving wizard (all three leads are solid). It's mostly harmless, and decently enjoyable.

Good, not sure David Jason is the best choice for Rincewind but I'm willing to overlook that.

Painful to watch considering the quality of the source material. The director doesn't know how to shoot comedy. Seriously, there are crazy long pauses after each punchline, as if there's supposed to be a laugh track or something.

Only loosely based on the book and included a subplot from The Light Fantastic. Not particularly bad but not particularly appealing either ---- especially if you enjoyed the book.

There's something essential missing from this... Can't quite put my finger on it.

Among all Pratchett's adaptations I've seen this must be the dullest. Alas I'm a quite disappointed. Actors could be better chosen, since only C. Lee, T. Curry and J. Irons got roles suited for them. S. Astin (gay Sam from LotR) is just wrong. Yet it isn't that bad, but knowing Pratchett's works or seeing other movies based on his novels, you'll reget spending 3 hours of your time. P.S.: Part 2 is much better.

A fantastic under-the-radar fantasy movie penned by Terry Pratchett, one of the best absurdity humorists of all time. It's got a whole slew of big names, and some pretty fine production values for being so unknown. The story is, of course, amazing, and the narration just adds to that. I'm pretty happy with the direction, stylistically. Go see this movie, just do it.

As an avid Terry Pratchett reader I was pleasantly surprised by this movie. True, it's not Oscar-worthy, but it IS a faithful adaptation of a Discworld novel and is actually pretty fun to watch. Read the book though.

No matter how strange it looks like, this really IS a good movie based on a Pratchett novel. Not anywhere near the magic of the book(s), but still quite entertaining.

Nowhere near Pratchett's wit, still the pieces are put well. Production values are quite nice for a tv movie too. The problem is too much is blunted out of Pratchett for family viewing.

Ricewind is too old. Not enough pratchett feel for me. But good movie if you dont need pratchett feel.
