I have never watched a single game of basketball outside of Space Jam. If one of the last episodes has Joe Exotic with Dennis Rodman I’ll plotz.

Under Quarantine F?i?l?m? Documentary Reviews #90: Its definitely a must-watch for any Jordan fan as The Last Dance succeeds by encapsulating him in his prime, however, it doesn't provide any new insights about its subject and acts as a 10-hour long Jordan brand commercial. It paints a lot of important figures in a much more negative light than they should but that's what you get when the subject of the docu has final cut privileges.

Love how no matter his singular ability or editorial control Jordan's life still comes off like an Elmore Leonard novel. Gambling sprees with dudes named Slim Bouler and Dick Esquinas. Minor league baseball hijinx. The, uhm, disappearance and brutal murder of his father. This one kind of got away from me.

Very competently assembled series the main lesson of which is the same one that OVER THE LIMIT (2017) taught much more clearly: to reach the pinnacle of a highly competitive field usually requires forms of sacrifice and ways of thinking that everyday schlemiels can't accept and can barely imagine. It's never boring, but in the end a bit grandiose considering it is ultimately about a bunch of pituitary cases trying to stuff a ball through a hoop. Jordan himself is obviously a phenomenal athlete.

Joins the pantheon of incredibly well made Netflix docs that have an edge of bias and are 2 episodes too long. Still a captivating watch.

deftly handles its subject matter and gives it the gravitas it deserves. the Bulls and their significance are tautological: they matter because they matter. there's really not a second that isn't captivating and compelling; it's easy enough to credit the subject matter, but there have been plenty of boring documentaries about fascinating subjects. score would likely be higher if Space Jam received more thorough coverage.

The Last Dance is well made and kept me entertained for its entire duration but at the end I was left with a sense of emptiness. What's the point? Jordan's brilliance as a player and ultra-competitiveness meant no dynasty could ever end without this conclusion. It's also hard to care about this group of players not winning a sixth championship. I gained no real new insights on any of the people involved and the whole thing felt saccharine towards Jordan's revisionist history.

When the Bulls win against the Jazz and Dennis Rodman crotch chops at the crowd then goes home with Carmen Electra, that was the real last dance.

Watching TLD brought back to me many childhood recollections. Gathering NBA stickers and having a blast when Karl Malone, Reggie Miller or David Robinson showed up in the album. Listening to classic songs on the Walkman before playing NBA Jam with my cousin on the good old Mega Drive during halcyon times that will never come back. It's hard not to like this if you're a basketball fan, especially when you've grown up watching these guys play; to all of you, thanks for the memories.

As a die hard Bulls and NBA fan who wasn't even born during the Jordan era, I admit I've never been super emotionally attached to this part of history. However, this is phenomenal. I knew some of the turmoil and issues behind the scenery already just doing my research growing up, but there was a lot here that as a Bulls fan, I didn't even know. I don't know how you can like sports, walk away from this and be disappointed. This is one of the best produced documentaries period.

The timeline jumps were a bit confusing but I suppose it was all done to lead up to the final series. I didn't really learn much (except about Tony Kukoc and Scott Burrell) but I guess it depends on your prior level of basketball and '90s knowledge. What a dynasty. Yes, it's pro-Jordan, but if they focused on how much of an asshole he was it would still be nothing new. Fav scene: Jordan finding out about why the team had to be broken up.

Considering the incredible behind-the-scenes footage, all the interesting ups and downs the team and players face over the years, and the larger than life mystique surrounding one of the greatest sportsperson of an era, it's astonishing the series is such a confused mess. All the time jumps serve no purpose except for derailing whatever thin narrative this was trying to weave. This isn't a documentary, it's a one sided brand booster that gives Michael the last say on every matter.

Ok, so this is mainly evolving around Jordan. It's entertaining to watch but I wonder how objective this documentary is. No denying he is a God on the court, but what about off the court? We get to see a little bit of his other but it's a drop in an ocean. Not that I am in search of drama, but the 10 episode documentary feels one sided (documentary is funded by Jordan himself) and I question it all.

Instant classic and perhaps even the singularly greatest sports documentary we have. Wildly engaging and hits all the big points you want leading up to the 98 Finals. It has to be said, though, that Jordan's personal oversight of this doc means it was incredibly positive, just barely touching on the negative. In any event, it's an absolute must-see for any sports fan, and probably still pretty great for anybody else.

Well made but nothing of interest to anyone not already into basketball. The only drama comes from the library music. It's just names and dates like a dull history lesson. They could be talking about any big corporation - like a big accountants: Lots of money flying around, people at the top of their profession, talented in their job, some people didn't like other ones, but if you're not into accountancy, they may as well be talking about basketball.

Quality in places for sure, but not exceptional like I was expecting. Also wasn't a fan of the constant back and forth time jumping which regularly killed the momentum of my own personal watching experience. Maybe not quite as one sided as some have suggested but it's definitely not as impartial as you would want something like this to be. Still should definitely be of interested to fans of US sports or the sporting greats, a term which undoubtedly applies to Michael Jordan

Not a basketball fan at all but this is fascinating. Keeps focus on the team, not just Jordan (although he is an obviously big part). I would love to see this treatment for other dynasty teams in sports I don't know much about.

I am not a sports guy but I got caught up in the Bulls during their two three-peat runs. I was at a number of playoff games thanks to my father working for a big company with box seats. Watching this doc brought me back to those days. I do think that way too much time was spent on Jordan. Even when they are profiling other players, everything leads back to Jordan. That being said, this is a must watch for basketball fans and people from Chicago.

Bir Pearl Jam şarkısında geçen sözler gibi: 'You can spend your time alone redigesting past regrets, or you can come to terms and realize you're the only one who cannot forgive yourself. Makes much more sense to live in the present tense.' Gelmiş geçmiş en iyi spor belgesellerinden biri.

A pretty phenomenal piece of documentary work to focus 10 segments on one teams history over a decade or so. I never felt like wandering off, it kept me glued. It helped that I was at peak age when this was all going on so seeing some behind the scenes and legends and stories all gathered together really added to the experiences I already had in my head. I stopped watching pro basketball shortly after Jordan left. The game changed, defenses softened. But this was a nice look back for sure.

Not a bad watch and a comprehensive wrap-up (you can feel the however approaching), however, why do you name your docuseries The Last Dance, if it is going to be almost entirely about MJ, or if you name it like that why are you not trying to make it not almost entirely about MJ?

MJ was and remains the greatest talent and personality to ever win on a basketball court.Anyone who didn't know that before hand certainly knows that now. This documentary enlightens all aspects of his championships and personal life through out those runs. MJ did things most people only do on video games or in their dreams. The best 10 episodes of any sports run in history.Eye opening and it brings me back to my childhood when I was to young to understand who these men were and their greatness.
