I can't get over the brilliance of doing this as a prequel (especially when a 10-year-later sequel is so perfectly set up in the movie). It definitely doesn't live up to the movie, but it still has a ton of great moments. The additional characters were almost universally good choices, as well. Really hope they were able to make some money from this after the original movie didn't even break $300k in theaters.

Tastefully done reboot. Much welcomed.

Wain and Showalter have made it. A prequel to their 2001 film 14 years later could've been a poorly executed nostalgia fest, but instead "First Day Of Camp" comes into its own, especially in the second half. This is inspired goofiness galore as it should be: it nails the original's humour and references it just the right amount yet also broadens its horizons with a really insane plot that makes both this and the original even funnier. Seeing the excellent original cast return is very gratifying.

A triumph for fans of the original movie. The concept of taking all the original actors when 15 years older and placing them in prequel is comical in itself, but the series succeeds in complimenting WHAS as a lead in story that makes sense as well as standing on it's own as an isolated story arc.

Seems a bit pointless and unable to replicate the feel of the movie as some actors have gone on to do bigger and better things now, but it has its moments I suppose.

Did not watch the movie, but I think this works a standalone project, too. There were a few times I laughed out loud, but generally watched the series with a smile on my face. Definitely gets better towards the end.

I wasn't quite as on board with this one as everybody else seemed to be. There are some definitely funny moments, especially the scene where Chris Meloni chases down Ken Marino after the prank call, but something was holding me back from fully embracing it, God knows what.

I'm not saying I didn't laugh (and the cast they assembled for this is INSANELY impressive in 2015, tons of these people are now huge TV/movie stars), but overall it just felt so targeted at the world's smuggest comedy hipsters. Something about it just annoyed me, despite a few admittedly big laughs. Chris Pine was pretty funny.

Doesn't have the same magic the movie did but still has enough the insanity to be enjoyable. Everyone looks insanely old though.
