A raucous story of the interweaving lives and loves of small-town delinquents, shady cops, pretty good girls and very (very) bad boys. With Irish guts and grit, lives collide, preconceptions shatter and romance is tested to the extreme. (IFC Films)

The opening scene is a kinda metaphor for the rest of it, a punch in the face to conventions. Worth seeing for it's intricate plotting, hilarious characters, strong performances and endlessly quotable dialog.

Deserved a better reception in the US. Proof-positive that both Cilian Murphy and, more impressively, Colin Farrell, have the goods when it comes to performing.

Weak. Uninvolving, silly and yeah, weak.

Uneven but worth a look.

Appallingly made. Seemingly pointless (and not in a charming nonchalant kind of way).

I liked this one for its lack of gloss.

Farrell is great and all of his scenes are fun but some characters are just boring. Nice try but nothing special.

A straight movie without any frills is actually works on grit. The performance was really good by one and all. It has its own dark humor. A good entertainer all the way.

Thoroughly enjoyable Irish comedy drama with sharp dialogue. Often hilarious, its only weakness is the shot-for-tv cinematography.

Intermission attempts to cleverly interweave a number of subplots, but there is no natural, intimate connection - or at least it's not very satisfying. The movie utilizes documentary-style cinematography, but why? It adds nothing to the angry dialogue that pervades the movie, and the action is laughable and crude. Ultimately, the movie ends up feeling a bit arbitrary and aimless. It has no tension, it forces the dark aspects if its characters, and the conclusion is laughably boring.

Somewhat close to Guy Richie's crime comedy's but except diamonds or money, here people are looking some love too. Movie has some good humor and non-stopping action.
