Killing Gunther

There are many things one might assume would be worse than suffering the bubonic eye-canker that was Killing Gunther: nuclear winter without an iPod charger, a fer-de-lance bite in the coccyx, swiss cheese without the proper hole-to-solid ratio...but they wouldn't be. The few scenes that do feature Arnie aren't wholly unbearable, but you have to sit through 90 minutes of the cinematic equivalent of waterboarding (with Russian hooker pee) before you get to them. Bait, switch, and match.

OK movie, it had its funny moments. Not enough Arnold, he only shows up for the last 20 minutes, which also happen to be the best 20 minutes of the movie.

This was a surprisingly fun movie. It was inconsistent and started to drag a bit in the second half but the cast managed to carry the movie until Arnold showed and and man once he did he took over and easily made the ending the best part of the whole thing.

Not a very good movie but fun seeing Arnold in this role.

It's labored, straining and not very funny outside of when Arnold is onscreen - which isn't until the final 20 minutes. The documentary angle also doesn't help the movie.

Needed better pacing, more consistent humor and a lot more Arnold. This was a mixed bag.

On paper this should work; it has a fun promising premise and some likable talented cast members, Simone, Moynihan , Tolman and Smulders, plus of course the Governator as inspired stunt casting. But the execution is dreadful. No jokes land and are lazily executed, the acting is wooden, the mockumentary style adds nothing and just becomes annoying shaking handheld camera shots and the plot drags so much that even when Arnie finally comes on screen there is no way of saving this movie anymore.

If you like silly laughs and explosions this is worth a watch.

good movie

"Killing Gunther" is basically SNL actors getting paid for a longer sketch. There are a few punchlines, as with a regular SNL show, but it should not be a movie. I really liked the documentary angle though, at least they got that right. Finally, I will admit that after 30 minutes or so, I just fast forwarded the remaining show. It got even more annoying, the jokes far worse and it simply was a complete drag and tedious experience.

Sometimes funny but for the most part really silly. Will leave you asking "where the hell is Arnold?"

This felt like a bad SNL skit that someone made way too long.

It kinda crappy, but still charming. If you're stoned enough it's not that bad.
