Pretty young millennials just wanna party like it's 1999, but the big bad copowayshun says fuck you and the smartphone you rode in on, and blackmails the most muscular of the pencil-pushers into becoming an elite government-trained corporate spy. Luckily Scooby, Velma, and the rest of the kids in the van use their 1337 programming skillz (tm) to outfox the Michael J Foxes of Wall Street and emerge on top, and by on top, we mean back at that entry-level position that they started at. PARTY ON!

Ford, Oldman and Luketic do what they're supposed to, but I found Hemsworth and Heard boring, and there's just no saving a script that's pretty much the definition of bland.

The only paranoia here is the feeling you have when you look over your shoulder, trying to make sure no ones is actually seeing you watching Heard and Hemsworths vague attempt to do what we like to call acting in this cliché filled "thriller" that tries to give homage to the 70's but fails - as in epicly fails.

What an odd and naive movie, and so many big names or familiar names and for what? It aged very fast too because of the theme. Amber Heard can rot, also.

For a movie called Paranoia, there was hardly a soul being paranoid in this corporate espionage thriller...

I have to rate it lower, because... well, I remember watching it, and sort of remember liking it, but... the fact that very little of it stuck with me (I barely remember the plot or best scenes), is what yanks my rating downward. I'd say it was VERY typical, run of the mill. Worth a watch if you have nothing else to choose from.

Paranoia, then, sharply critiques dishonesty and greed as moral failings worthy of censure and punishment, even as it reinforces our culture's morality-detached ways of thinking--or not thinking at all--about the role and place of sexuality in relationships. (pluggedin.com)

It's decent enough I suppose, a fairly predictable corporate thriller. There are some twists in there but it feels like we've seen them before. On a side note, there seems to be a decidedly unproportional amount of scenes with Hemsworth walking around without a shirt on.

Oldman's accent,ha,what is that? Hemsworth is like a block of wood,no charisma. The plot is hilariously bad and boring and this is from someone who loves mobile technology. The dialogue is worst of all,it's like they just wanted to fill in the gaps between "plot" with any old dialogue.

the movie could've just as well been titled "anatidaephobia", because that appears about as often as a theme as "paranoia". it's just a more than poorly scripted corporate espionage movie, full of incoherencies, as well as factual, continuity and logical errors. makes you wonder if harrison ford and gary oldman just "depict" the money-grubbing entrepreneurs, because neither of them would've put up with this soulless piece of crap 20 years ago.

I can easily see why this film bombed at the box office. Far from being a thriller, it's utterly dreary, even the young lovers embracing seem same old same old without any true emotion. The viewer feels utterly detached from the action. Harrison Ford is supposed to be in this movie--where? He's the villain of the piece? Who decided THAT casting? Finally I hear Ford's voice but the bald shave headed man w/that voice is completely unrecognizable, & sorry, really ugly. No Ford fans will enjoy.

Clichéd and unoriginal, Paranoia is a middling techno-thriller with indifferent performances and a shortage of thrills.

An ambitious telecommunications developer (Liam Hemsworth) finds himself caught in a battle between two tycoons (Harrison Ford and Gary Oldman). A little ingenuity/deus ex machina saves his bacon by the time the credits roll. Generic corporate thriller, whose perspectives seem informed solely by other corporate thrillers. Ford and Oldman, though clearly slumming it, have a little fun with their roles, and it's not truly incompetent, but there's nothing fresh or especially compelling here.

Hemsworth is not the man to carry a film of this particular nature, his campy approach often failing to make him an admirable lead character. His chemistry with Heard always feels forced and never develops the way it should. However,Oldman and Ford are quiet the treat if their screen time together is very limited. A typical run of the mill espionage thriller, that attempts to be smarter then it is by using tech-talk that actually means nothing. It's grand plan fails, because there was no plan.

The movie does nowhere near live up to the title. Looking back over the shoulder once in a while does not cut it...
