Always hard to watch a movie set in the place you live directed by someone who's never been there for longer than a few days at a time.

As formulaic a film as you are likely to find about musicians - nevertheless it does have some stunning moments and memorable scenes that make it an almost-classic. Michelle Pfeiffer has certainly never looked more peachy, youthful or seductive... and Jeff Bridges is as suave a pianist as any of us would want to be. Their chemistry in their songs, party scenes and arguments is the heart and soul of the film. Their romance and passion is on a par with Top Gun or Dirty Dancing :)

Good acting, -the decent times- nostalgia through the music, guilt ridden silence of Bridges and charming presence of Pfeiffer (at her prime) makes this an enjoyable ride. Otherwise script is uninspired and cliche-ridden.I still wonder how many kids there are in u.s. that randomly lurks into their friendly neighbor's house climbing up-down fire ladder. This is no less than tenth time I saw the subplot kid incident.

This is a well cast and well made film. The three leads are all great in their roles. The script is simple but it works. Michelle Pfeiffer really knocks it out of the park here. Overall I would recommend this film.

Excellent nostalgic character study film. The editing, screenplay and direction are on top, The Bridges (specially Jeff) give the best performances of their carreers and Michelle Pfeiffer, oh well, Michelle Pfeiffer is absolutely mesmerizing and legendary in this.

Too much rambling dialogue. I don't care about Michelle Pfeiffer on a piano

Not bad. I was absolutely astounded to realize Michelle Pfeiffer was actually doing her own singing. The vocal coach Sally Stevens (at least she's the one credited) deserves huge props.

I don't know why, but I just don't like this movie. I think it's somehow "slow", but I don't know why I get this feeling.

Dull film. I got about 40 minutes in and bailed. The characters were flat, boring, the situation was still non-existent. it was a dull film.

The romantic, moody, jazzy aspect really works, but at an hour in the characters start making one unreasonable decision after another, just to serve the four act structure. None of the losing is earned.

A simple, deliberate, semi-satisfying, well-acted character study. Crazy Horse feels like this movie's sequel in a lot of ways.

If I owned a piano, I would get the one that comes with a Michelle Pfeiffer on top.
