What's the point of this movie? None of the relevant questions are answered, everything happens essentially for no reason, characters serve no purpose in the plot. There's no resolution, no catharsis, nothing. Netflix should be ashamed of hosting this shit show.

Like THE WRETCHED, dips its toes in waters the filmmakers would seem inclined to wade into if not for fear of trending ewwww grosssss lol @netflix. Instead, the film suggests important questions like, Is it the crazy lady? is it the black guy? is it the real estate kid? or could it be the dude identified only by big black boots and scary music? For the answers to these questions and absolutely no others, watch this movie or hey do something else 'cause the gag is they're not real questions right

The Open House isnt great but its not nearly as bad as the IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes scores would have you think. It's another run of the mill horror movie that falls into the home invasion category. Anything that could have turned out interesting takes the most boring route. Only if youre really in a horror movie rut.

Not good, but not bad enough to be enjoyable except in a few laughably dumb moments. Humorless, takes itself very seriously. Competent acting, good cinematography, cool setting, and slightly promising setup are all thoroughly squandered on a plot that takes a long time to take off, and then goes nowhere.

I mean I guess it’s competent enough but it’s basically The Strangers with all the stuff that makes it interesting and scary sucked out

OK horror movie with a slow start but an intense second half. Also, I give it extra points for a more realistic ending.

Perhaps the least scary horror film that I have ever seen. For those who thought that It Follows or The Witch were boring and WTF, then watch Open House and get back to me.

A complete waste of time. The movie started off decent enough with the family dynamic and dealing with loss, but all of that was for naught by the nonsensical ending. While some may like the Michael Myers like villain with no motive, no back story, no connection to the victims, and even no face, it is far from my tastes. Even so much as a reference to previous killings would have been something.

The setup is good and the setting is alright but it has one of the worst endings in movie history. A complete waste of your time.

Probably giving this a little more credit than it’s due for being good up until the last 15 minutes or so because they were tossing out some decent little red herrings. Dying at the dude making his dad listen to Shannon and the clams

I think people should stop reading the synopsis of movies and just saw them, maybe they would have voted that one as a good Thriller with a Mystery that leaves you wondering what the hell is happening until almost the very end.

The actors give it their all, but the best performances in the world couldn't save this. A movie about a mother and son being murdered in their home that can't even commit to being nihilistic or gruesome. Just an hour and a half of people walking around a house. The worst kind of bad movie: the kind where it's not even fun to talk about. Except for that ending. Netflix really will put their name on anything.
