Starring Monte Collins as a young man who dreams of technological progress in society bringing a "technocracy" that's a utopia and Billy Bevan as the Mayor, whose daughter Collins wants to marry, the short begins with a dream sequence where Collins is running a factory on his own and explaining to someone how no one needs to work in this new utopia and everything operates automatically.

Billy takes a trip to the the zoo with his wife and two sons. He is proud to show his knowledge about wild animals to his older son, who is preparing for an exam. The whole family starts by looking at the zebras before watching the leopard tamer. Then Billy gets doused by an elephant while his younger boy plays with monkeys in their cage. But Billy's misadventures are not over yet, for one of his sons has thrown his wife's handbag into the lions cage.

Andy Wilson (Andy Clyde), a millionaire pig farmer from Kansas, comes to Chicago (unless New York has a stock yard district)looking for his girl friend, Natalie (Dorothy Christy) who had left the Sunflower state as she did not care much for the company of pigs and/or pig handlers, although Andy wasn't rich when she left, else she would have most likely been a bit more tolerant. Andy runs into his old friend Jake (Billy Bevan), who has been married for about a year to another belle from Kansas.
