#14641 - 5 stars for Hawkins's Review of He's Just Not That Into You

He\ 48 - "I mean some of these RomComs just exist to promote the wedding industry, right? Is that even a conspiracy or is that just openly a thing?"
  • luna6ix

    #14642 - 5 stars for Luna6ix's Review of Summer of '84

Summer of \ 66 - "Putting aside the whole 80's gimmick, this movie has the plot of a bad lifetime movie. So to try to spruce it up with aesthetic is like a garnish on a shitty steak. You can only be fooled until you take a bite."
  • alex_watkins

#14643 - 5 stars for Alex Watkins's Review of Sweet Smell of Success

Sweet Smell of Success 5 - "Hooooly cow. This movie is as vivid, exciting and razor-sharp as just about anything I've seen. J.J. Hunsecker and Sidney Falco are such ruthless, amoral motherfuckers but they're such captivating presences that you almost find yourself gleefully rooting for their success - particularly Falco, whose unbridled ambition is palpable. This is the best movie Billy Wilder never directed. Captivating from start to finish, and an absolutely essential example of the Golden Age of Hollywood."

#14644 - 5 stars for CMonster's Review of The Death of Stalin

The Death of Stalin 88 - "Have you ever played a board game where whoever is in first place gets ganged up on and then the guy in second wins? Buscemi is awesome. Beyond being funny, it's just an interesting story, the humor really is the icing on the cake here. Great movie."
  • paxton

#14645 - 5 stars for Paxton's Review of Doctor Strange

Doctor Strange 69 - "One of the worst remakes ever. Lost literally all of the subtext of the original. Mr. Cumberbatch, you are no Peter Sellers."
  • ytadel

    #14646 - 5 stars for Ytadel's Review of Speed

Speed 8 - "Of the many "Die Hard on a ______" movies, this "Die Hard on a bus" thriller is the best, and one of the best action movies of the 90s. Dumb? Fuck you, I don't give a shit, I didn't watch it for cerebral stimulation. FAST CARS EXPLOSIONS GUNFIGHTS DECAPITATION ROGUE ELEVATORS COPS GONE BAD LEAPING INTO CARS LEAPING OUT OF CARS KEANU REEVES HOLY SHIT"
  • beedub

    #14647 - 5 stars for BeeDub's Review of Fun & Fancy Free

Fun & Fancy Free 82 - "The Mickey and the Beanstalk segment is pretty good, but constantly interrupted by the unnecessary ventriloquism bits. The Bongo half is pretty meh. Overall it's OK, but not one you'll rush to rewatch."
  • mattorama12

    #14648 - 5 stars for mattorama12's Review of Moana

Moana 76 - "Really fun adventure with an art/culture that I haven't seen much of in film before. The music was also some of Disney's best in a long time. I was a little annoyed with Maui's facial animation, which is a nitpick I have with a lot of Disney's funny/sarcastic characters, but otherwise nothing to complain about."
  • beer94

    #14649 - 5 stars for Beer94's Review of Moana

Moana 74 - "Stunning animation, pretty solid soundtrack and a Disney princess that continues the trend of breaking the mould. Moana seems to be more proof that Disney are on the rise during Pixar's slightly rocky spell. This doesn't quite sail to the heights of Zootopia in terms of its creativity and script and I have no idea where those coconut pirates came from really, but it's still plain sailing for Disney at the moment."
  • peaceanarchy

    #14650 - 5 stars for PeaceAnarchy's Review of Moana

Moana 80 - "I'm kinda tired of chosen one arcs. but this is a pretty fun take on it thanks to Moana being a really good lead character and The Rock being a good complement that brings some humour."
