Imaginative and bold for the vast majority. I can only envy the kids who grow up watching this.

panders to your typical internet generation teenagers/hipsters in a pretty transparent way, full of lame, tryhard irony and zaniness, which is a shame 'cause when it knuckles down it's something else, man. some of the most imaginative and unsettling shit i've ever seen and it's airing on cartoon network in 2015.

This show can be enjoyable but it can't quite figure out how seriously if at all it wants you to take it. Has a few cute trope inversions, and it's inventive. Not enough for me to want to sit down and watch it.

Cute, quirky, and sometimes funny little animated show that kids and kidults (like myself) can enjoy.

I wasn't sold on this at first but it is growing on me. It's silly and sometimes really creepy.

the best thing to ever happen

There are so many good things about this show. The writing and character growth is incredible and the art is fantastic. My only true qualm is the existence of Lemongraab

started as something meant for kids, but it grew along with the audience and became more complex . With episodes for any mood, silly goofy, adventurous, thoughtful, emotional, and some with all of that together. Not every episode is a hit but that’s to be expected with an 8 year run. All in all this show holds a special place in my heart. I want to add that if you didn’t grow up watching this show, it is very goofy and inane for the first few seasons and is better suited for a background show.

i grew up with this show and have been invested in the world ever since, i always find its something i can watch to put me in a good mood and i would recommend watching it, it has a very exciting plot later on but the first few seasons are more episodic. each episode always adds something to the characters or world which makes it constantly enriching and i would suggest you watch it if you havent.

A timeless, boundary pushing piece of animation that defies any age bracket. With ups and down in terms of quality and narrative flow, its far from perfect, but it is one of the most unique and funny shows CN has ever put out.

95 for the first 2 seasons. 67 for the rest.

(S1) This is for children/preteens that are just starting to notice the difference in quality between shows, and want to be elitist about it, but only know popular shows. The humor does a whole lot of hibernating, and sometimes Finn and Marceline turn into annoying teen pop stars, but the animation and creativity is delicious, and Maria Bamford does voice work!

Weird, off-beat, colorfull, surreal and surprisingly deep. The quintessential animated children's TV-show of the decade.

EVERYTHING STAYS

A notable number of episodes don't really work, but when this hits its stride Adventure Time delivers some wonderful times with a dash of great absurdist humor.

Although the show overstayed it's welcome and often trended to filler, Adventure Time is essential viewing for it's era-defining influence: the flat surreal art style, optimistic and eternally millennial characters, and the offbeat plots that keep continuity.

Too directionless and humourless for my taste.
