Actually aspirational heroes. So stoked to find a show where it’s not just some bumbling Chaucerian amoral everyman or a dickish edgelord antihero. 😍 All the characters are simultaneously complex, flawed & well written but also endearing & talented in their own ways. Felt like a spiritual successor to TNG in a way that no other Star Trek series was. It just gets better every season, like Venture Bros, building on lore & deepening characters.

A vital part of an aesthetic tradition that includes Doctor Who, MST3K, The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth. It focuses on characterization and internality while delighting in humor and strangeness, with weird psychic experiences and recurring scenes inside our central character's head. It has creative energy coming from all sides, with actors shaping the plot and each other's interpretations, and it's got coherent and interesting worldbuilding with room for space vampires and star ghosts. Fun AF.

Get over your cringy first impressions of the characters, get over the puppets and the silliness, and you'll find some extremely high quality writing set in an enthralling universe. All of the characters grow up on you and end up being great each in their own way, Scorpius is possibly the best villain of all time (and gets out-villained later on!). This show is the gold standard for sci-fi epics. Sorry, Stargate, I love you, but that one guy in Community was wrong : Farscape's better.

It has a lot of problems, and I really only like Seasons 1 and 3, but when it was good, it was great.

As with much TV from this time there's just too much filler, but it can be incredibly creative, colorful and out-there when it's on its A-game. The episodes with Crichton going insane (seems to happen at least a few times per season) are generally amazing.

Truly one of kind television series. its truly outstanding how original "Farscape" is.from diverse alien creature,advance technology and living spaceship,its pretty much a cohesion of both traditional and modern sci-fi. Although it centered around the interaction between character much like the original Star Trek and it wasn't as realistically scientific as "Star Trek". yet again,it is highly imaginative and sometime even sublime.its hard to resist the space odyssey that "Farscape" has to off

Be warned that this is the kind of show that has no no lack of magical space wizards who can conjure up plot devices whenever required.

A show I always really enjoyed. It had a certain amount of cheesy acting, but never stopped it being completely enjoyable. Made a great use of puppets also, and reguarly contained interesting concepts and storylines.

A consistently high-calibre sci-fi series that was frequently dismissed for its use of puppets, made-up space lingo, and hammy acting. Despite those things, Farscape created believable characters capable of real emotion and caught up in a sweeping and complex space opera. Not to be underestimated.

Bad acting and an even worse script, but this show is still somehow compelling because every other episode is batshit insane--and, well, a lot of plot points, characters, and aesthetics have influenced a lot of better sci fi that came later (I'm looking at you Mass Effect). Sure the show is often nonsensical, but it is a lot of fun.

The best adventure scifi ever made. The creature shop allows this series to hold brilliantly.

I am a hard die trekie. But justice must be done, this is a greatly underrated sci-series. Expect time fillers and bad episodes, but it's often really imaginative and daring, and it's genius a couple times. That's way better than you average tv show. It's a shame it was cancelled and the ending had to be rushed and substandard.

While the Australian extras are terrible; the main cast, the Jim Henson puppets, and the plain absurdity of what is going on on-screen at times, is enough reason to keep watching. It's cheesy, it's intense...it's uniquely Farscape.

Excellent and well-made. This sci-fi drama is compelling and extremely creative.

A show that always managed to combine a good story with a bit of humour (I've had some great laughs watching this show). It has one of the most unique looks and feels of any of the more modern SF shows and some of the most memorable characters.

You need to know that each episode in this series picks up where the last one left off, so if you're not going to watch it from the beginning don't bother since all the nuances of the characters will be lost on you. And a space opera like this is all about the characters . . . hot chicks, cool costumes, strange plots, super science, and rag tag adventure.

Very Great Series

True "Scapers" discovered the fantastic series at the very beginning, and even though the show ended far too early, it still continues to gain popularity. John, an american astronaut slips through a wormhole and finds himself on the other side of the universe. He finds himself on a living ship with an (hilarious) alien crew and searching for a way home. Four seasons and a Mini series does not do this show justice, but is definitely worth watching from the very first episode.

Fantastic series that unfortunately didn't receive the attention it deserved. Great name under the Henson production label.

The 2-hour pilot was fantastic. Too bad the following series progressively went down in quality.
