A good, faithful adaptation of the source.

It's not bad. Actually pretty good given how similar shows tend to fare. Watched 2 full seasons and don't have many complaints. But I'm just too old for this and find no interest in continuing, so I'll stop watching.

Mah, difficile valutare questa serie perché è stata piena di alti e bassi: inizia in maniera suggestiva, poi pian piano si perde in un mare di personaggi e storyline a cui si fatica a stare dietro. Ci sono comunque momenti interessanti e l'idea di fondo è solida, vediamo dove andrà a parare con l'ultima stagione.

Its one of those movies where most of the Departments in Production did a very nice job but the Acting and Directing just fails to fuse it together. Sad. The Plot manages to feel Rushed and Overstretched at the same time.

I watched this primarily because of Dafne Keen, who I loved in Logan, and James McAvoy, who apparently is in very little of it. The concept of the show is a little hard to follow at the start, but it's an interesting one when you start understanding the world better. The story does move a little slower than I would like, but I think it ends up being pretty good fantasy.

1st episide was promising after that becomes a set piece for how not to adapt a book. So many stupid decisions to both plot and characters were made that literally ruin and undercut the original. How Pullman endorsed this mess is beyond me.

Gave up in the 5th episode of the first season. Dreadfully slow. If Peter Jackson can wrap up the entire "Lord of the Rings trilogy" in 9½ hours, there's no reason why book 1 of this trilogy needed 8 hours. This adaptation is slow to start and sometimes feels like it's been cut off from it's own daemon. Yet this is still one hell of a story, and the cinematography of the North will take your breath away.

Better than The Golden Compass (2007). The intro into the world of humans and deamons has a steady pace, it does not rush but does not become boring since every episodes pushes the characters further into their quests. The acting is convincing as well as the CGI. Especially Dafne Keen did a good job on her character. There is much subtlety and details to be found in this series. I recommended it wholeheartedly.

It is a little dull and I don't love the cast, but the atmosphere works, and the show feels both epic and horrific when at its best.

Season 1: 65. Season 2: 55. Season 3: 50 arithmetic mean : 56. Watched 3 full seasons and this moves at a snails pace. I think the show is racing to a red light with its plot. Several episodes are used on something that seems to have no baring on the outcome. But I'm just too old for this and find no interest in continuing watching bloated, overhyped Mickey mouse bullshit like this or the rings of power. All those are shows with high budget stuff that is mediocre at best.

Develops itself fairly well as it goes on after a sluggish start. Wilson and Keen are both excellent. A very respectable adaptation that has good potential.

Only watched episode 1, will rate it when I fully watch it.

It's well made, it's pretty, and the acting is good enough. It just seems passionless. Kinda gutless. It's only 3 episodes in, but I am already thinking about dropping it. Here is hoping it picks up.

Direction seems unfocused, amateurish and passionless (so far). Struggling to keep watching. Better than the movie but the bar is set low.
