One of a number of stop motion holiday specials that annually resurface, there's not a single one of these that's any less than solid. Perfectly fine viewing once every couple years when the yules are tiding. Yep, I know what I just did there.

Santa makes for a creepy young child molester. Fred Astaire talks to inanimate bags of mail for the running time, while Santa learns how to say Ho from seals, which is absolutely hilarious to me, though not in a redeeming way.

You'd better watch out! You'd better not cry! You'd better not pout! I'm telling you why....ah, nothing says Christmas like making idle threats towards children! Most people know the legend, but I like the spin this puts on the Kris Kringle lore, notably that Santa was a freckle faced ginger!!! The film also features one of the best named characters in film history, the Mayor of Sombertown, Burgermeister Meisterburger!! Ha, I'd vote for that guy on his name alone. Just kidding...I don't vote.

I never saw this as a kid, as I don't think it's a christmas staple here in Argentina, so there's no nostalgia attached to it. It's... not great. It's got some charm I suppose, but yeah, no.

My wife loved this movie and it took her down memory lane. As for me I had never seen this before and I loved making fun of it. So we both had a good time.

A Santa Claus origin story. Sounds promising. But the adventures aren't interesting and the songs are crap. "One foot in front of the other, that's how you walk across the floor."? Are you serious??? What's next? "Down and up and down and up, that is how you blink"? Next year, when we have an itch for holiday claymation, we'll just stick with Rudolph.

The most condensed and probably most successful of the Rankin-Bass Christmas entries. While the others seem to become more laughable over time, this seems to maintain a sense of charm and cuteness that other specials lack.

The songs are still pretty catchy. I absolutely loved this when I was a kid, but I've kind of outgrown it now. Oh well, it's fun at Christmastime.
