I can't help but feel they could have done much more with this sort of premise but the main aim of this first season was probably just to introduce us to this world and its characters. Has some great moments, but falls short in other areas. Overall though, I'm looking forward to seeing where they will take this show in the upcoming season.

The things this show does well it does very well, but it falls short in other areas. The directing and camerawork were beautiful and it used music to create some wonderfully stirring moments. However, I got a "style over substance" vibe whenever they were dipping into the pseudoscience the show is built on. It also took me about halfway through the season to start caring about any of the characters. Overall, it's an interesting premise, and I'll continue watching. (Reviewed after season 1)

I want to love this show so so so bad but the writing and dialogue is atrocious and I couldn't even finish the second season. All the elements for a good show are here and the setup is unique but the writing brings it down and it did not improve in the later seasons.

first season surprisingly enough brings some originality to the table, in spite of the obvious heroes remake of it all. season two brings it down not just one but several notches.

Sense8 has an interesting premise, while being enormously indulgent, even for the Wachowski's. The first 3 episodes of the 1st season feel like they were made in the 90's, and the characters are largely annoying throughout their introductions. Luckily from that point forward, the show picks up and while it's never any less indulgent it does become more engrossing. The characters grow on you and the international cast and locations show their worth.

It really hits you over the head with its "point" and takes itself too seriously. There's some really gorgeous visuals and exotic locales, but I just found myself not caring enough about any of the characters. Almost reminds me of Crash a bit. I might give it another go at some point, as I only got about halfway through the first season.

To me, Sense8 is one of the most important TV shows in the last decade. Summary: TV often presents unattainable exotic locales & lives as a way to entice viewers. Sense8 also does this, but the end goal is to show that a) we all share one essential human quality: empathy and b) that gulfs of experience & culture do not separate humans as much as we think. Sense8 is smart enough to realize that all stories exist to satisfy our need for empathy. In the end, Sense8 wants to connect us to each other

Phenomenal. I needed one or two episodes to get used to the rather unconventional style, but after that, I was fully on board. One of the best series I have seen up to date. And it is a real bummer it was discontinued, but at least we got the final two-hour long episode which brought the plot lines to an end as good as possible.

Couldn't even finish the pilot. I generally try to watch at least a couple of episodes but after an excruciating hour of corny dialogues, poor acting, heavy handed exposition and in your face social commentary I just gave up. And it blows my little mind how anyone could finish this first episode wanting more. I can't judge the whole series based on this (but I have a strong feeling it's going to be loads of melodrama and little substance) so this is a default score.

This show is not for everyone. It's sort of a mix of elements from Cloud Atlas and The Matrix, in some ways. The characters are all really great, but unfortunately the pacing is not the greatest. There are moments of brilliance when the characters work together with their connection and skills and those moments are brilliant, but unfortunately there's not enough of them. Thankfully it got a proper ending movie so it wasn't left incomplete by the cancellation.

Artistic, preachy soap opera where main story drags on so much you have a feeling it's not there - instead, you get soapy side stories. Lasted to EP9, but I had enough at EP4 (kept watching because it was the only thing I downloaded on trip). Could be nice if you have cravings for somethic artistic though. Shots look nice.

What it lacks in writing & plot it makes up for in solid visuals, great locations and a truly captivating emotional experience. Series 1 rocks as your imagination opens to the fantastic implications, in parallel with brave and positive treatment of sensitive issues. Series 2 suffers through rushed, cheap feeling writing: the aesthetic, locations and energy continue, but dull middle-series filler-episodes leave the inexperienced actors dead in the water with some truly awful dialogue and scenes.

I really wanted to like this, and I really want to support shows that have diverse casts, but this was just such a mess. Half way through the first season, I realized I had no idea what was going on in any of the characters arcs, nor did I care enough about any of the characters to even want to understand what was happening. I never even bothered to watch season 2.

It's hard to believe the same minds behind The Matrix are also responsible for this meandering mess.

Starts off good, even great and manages to maintain that level of quality throughout the first season. Starting with second season things start going downhill and as we're approaching the finale we start getting massive plot holes, unresolved threads and either deus ex machina or characters going out of character whenever writers get too lazy to figure out a plausible solution. It all gets way too ridiculous in the finale. Too much cheese, too. 1st season: 85, 2nd season: 45, finale: 35. Avoid.

managed to watch s1. tried 2nd but it looked totally plotless. surely penalty for lgbt propaganda which was made a corestone of a film.( yeah, precisely that word. would it be some sisters message like keep calm and make love each other retranslated from time to time it would be ok but why to devote 50-75% of time to that?)

Really enjoyable show, and I'm looking forward to more - but it also feels crowded with 8 seperate storylines sharing screentime. Hopefully they'll group up a bit more in the future - if I was a Sensate I'd want to travel in pairs.
