Slightly better than an average episode of any given cop shop. Looks pretty good for a Danish film.

Terrific chemestry between the two leads makes this Danish thriller an above-average experience. The plot, on the other hand...

Several things to appreciate: The dynamic chemistry between grumpy Lie Kaas and happy-down-to-earth Fares Fares speaks well for the future installments in the series. The script's mixture of past and present is nicely done. And Richter's caging is claustrophobically scary. But ultimately the storytelling is uninspired, as in mediocre TV-crime, and, worst of all, the mystery just seems too damn easy for Mørck and Assad to solve, never running into any severe red herrings. Disappointing.

Exactly what I look for in a dark detective thriller. It scratches the Fincher and the Nordic crime itches. The pressure tank is distinct and effectively disturbing. It feels a little bit like the pilot of a TV show, but a really good TV show, and I don't even really mind that the film ends with obvious sequel bait. I'm looking forward to checking out the rest of the series except for the one made by an entirely different creative team where they recast all the leads.

For sure some creepy and thriller-kinda moments but I needed a little bit more story - the mystery was too easy solved some how. Good acting from both leads. *Okay

Good cast. A lot like an extended tv cop show but still worth having a look.

A very fast and moderate decoction of the very tensive and superb Adler-Olsen triller. A positive thing about the film is the natural chemistry between the two leads.

Clearly a bigger production coming out of Denmark. Many scenes could easily have been cut out, and still, the movie is only 90 min. The story clearly lacks substance and depth. Non-danish viewers may not pay attention to this, but Lie Kaas is a way too easy cast, and that annoyed me throughout most of the movie. Fares however is a pretty cool mix, and the chemistry between the two is good, although I am sure Fares could work great with many other actors as well. - Okay.

Exactly as average as one could expect from a Danish adaptation of a nordic noir.
