Not bad. It has some good visual effects for its time and decent take on the werewolf myth. It's more about the horror of being infected than the horror of the creature, though, but it fails to examine the character in any depth because it still tries to play out as a monster movie.

Not bad for a first werewolf movie, but genre obviously needed a lot of refinement from this point. Still, it's good for a howl. AAAOOOOOOWWWWWW!!!

This forgotten first werewolf film from Universal Pictures is dated but not unworthy. Hull clearly did not relish this role. Originally intended as a vehicle for Karloff and Lugosi, this is too derivative of Mamoulian's _Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde_ and the Jack Pierce makeup is minimal, but Oland is excellent and Byington provides a few unobtrusive laughs.

Not completely enrapturing, but funny, classy, and quite delicious.

This is Universal's FIRST werewolf movie, prior to The Wolf Man. It has a unique story and was fun.

Dreadful. There's a reason everybody remembers _The Wolf Man_ instead

Patchy horror film which lurches from excellent suspense scenes to tedious chunks of superfluous dialogue. In many ways a milestone in the history of its kind.

Draw blood. Not as good as The Wolf Man, still a pretty entertaining movie in it's own right.

A couple of suspenseful spots, but only the land-ladies really made it worthwhile. "Knick-knack, Mrs. Whack, give a dog a room."

not suspenseful. the first ten minutes are interesting the rest is decidedly not. the makeup is terrible. the creature behaves as mr. hyde, not a werewolf.

Werewolf of London was a surprisingly well played movie. For some reason I had expected this one to be a lot more cheesy, but it mixes comedy, marriage drama and the horror part real well. Far from scary, but there is a certain gloom hanging in the air through-out as Warner Oland comes to warn the possessed doctor Henry Hull about the beast within.
