It's cute. It does the book justice. But it is a children's book, and the target audience are two year olds. I had one, and had to watch this, Room on the Broom, and Stickman dozens of times. FUCK ME. Once is enough.

Charming animation and good voice acting, but a little sluggish in its progression.

Basic animation, but nice voice work and music. Things start off very charmingly, but slowly become more grating. It's probably a little too long and becomes tedious, ending up somewhat droll. For a childrens movie there is no real moral payoff either? Not always a bad thing if a story, no matter how simple, actually goes somewhere, but this really doesn't. Also I fucking hate James Corden! Just the sound of the classless twats voice makes me sick into my mouth a little bit.

The directors have made some really clever grips to make the tale even more enchanting than in the book. The visuals are stunning and proves that you are not in need of a great budget to create brilliant animation. The magical, light and mythical score, in co-operation with the visuals, manages to create an atmospheric mood.

Don't you know? This movie is charming... and about a Gruffalo.

Very polished and charming animation which is only let down by its excessive length and insistence on illustrating every single line of the book when it should have been using artistic license and cutting to the chase for better effect. The characters are cute as any kid or adult could wish for and it's a garden of visual delights. A bit shorter and this short wouldn't look out of place on the front end of a Pixar feature.

I understand it's a children's story, but the script was really lack luster. I wish they would've livened it up a bit.

Decent animation and good voice acting to the classic children's story.

Animation could be better, the script it's too cyclical (the poetry use makes it a bit easier to watch) but well, it's understandable because it's directed to children and that's the way most tales work. Anyway, I don't understand exactly why it's nominated to Academy Award, It's hard to believe there's nothing better to nominate than this.

A few of the plot points aggravated me (why are you so daft Gruffalo???), but the story is well paced and whimsical. Plus, John Hurt as Owl. Gotta love that.

Enjoyed it much more on second view with some of my friends. But still this is definetely for small children, but you might enjoy watching it with them.

Charming little fairy tale, nice animation and I liked a lot the eye work. The let down was that it had no edge what so ever, but it worked fine just like that.
