Premised on the old fish-out-of-water comedy of manners, The Nanny's setting among the New York aristocracy was a bit alien to most viewers. The humor was only somewhat above par, and none of the cast members really shined aside from Fran Drescher herself and the occasional appearances of her mom and grandma. Still, even Fran's annoying vocal impression and stunning beauty could not distract from her huge talent and captivating charm. She was a joy to watch.

Killer fashion, and Fran was very sassy

Along with Frasier, which also debuted in 1993, it is the best comedy of manners sitcom since I Love Lucy, to which is owes, and acknowledges, a great debt.

There were a couple of good characters in the show, but the humor was predictable and a bit dull. It doesn't hold up.

Made in a time when people thought an annoying voice was funny. Had a good theme song though, so that's nice.

If you can get past her voice there is some entertaining interplay among the cast.

Lots of early 90's nostalgia wrapped up in this but even back then at the age of eight I realized how annoying it was.

Without a doubt an iconic comedy series, but having seen this series being shown on tv over and over again, I'm getting really tired of it.

Standard sitcom (perhaps a generous interpretation would say that it is a little more romantically insightful than most) held together by the talents of the lead actress.
