Una serie profonda, evocativa ed appassionante. E' molto sperimentale e forse non è per tutti, ma io l'ho apprezzata davvero tanto. La seconda stagione anche meglio della prima, perché i temi thriller/investigativi lasciano il posto a dinamiche più intime e familiari. Molto bello il finale, che chiude il cerchio.

I don't say this often but this was truly delightful. Salazar shaping up to be the Keanu Reeves of this generation (minus the involuntary goofiness, plus the top-notch acting). I love the homage to the Scanner Darkly poster, and unlike SD, the rotoscoped animation is put to excellent use narratively. It's a fucking blast. Watch it now! Interesting, but also extremely tryhard at times, especially during season 2. The art is nice, so is the acting and the setting, if only the script did better work at keeping me hooked. I think it has a lot to do with seasons dropping at once instead of week by week, the show could have done with more suspense and time to think about each episode.

The only other time a series has come close to moving me this much, was Bojack Horseman, Bob-Waksberg's other series. At first I thought this series was mainly exploring certain themes from Bojack more in-depth, like 'loss', 'complicated family relations', 'mental illness', 'constructed reality'. There was even the emotional gut-punch at the end of the episode that felt very familiar. But then suddenly there's the twist, the one that makes my non-linear-story-telling-loving self squeal with joy.

This blew my socks away. I was drawn in for and impressed by the rotoscoping. But as it developed this was simply not an aesthetic concern or eye candy. It was fully justified given how smoothly things jump between fragmented memories and sprees of reality.

I quite enjoyed this show. Alita made me an instant fan of Rosa Salazar, and I have always been fascinated by the idea of rotoscoped animation, so I had to check this show out. Really cool concept, and the animation style really helps pull it off in a cool way. Second season wasn't quite as good.
