I wanted it to be so much better, but alas, we can't always get what we want. That said, the story is sweet, and stops just short of Forrest Gump territory. Hugh Dancy steps out of his rom-com box and shines in a different type of romantic comedy.

As my mom said, this is more of an "appreciation" movie than an "entertainment" movie. Even so, I was laughing numerous times and found myself fully involved. That said, there were things in the story I would have liked more explanation of. And, the ending left me a little unsatisfied. However, I cannot say enough good things about Dancy's performance! I adore this actor and I think this is just another perfect example of his diversity and believability!

There's a lot to love about this movie, but it feels like it never tries to not be safe, to venture outside the bounds of these odd disability themed rom-coms. Probably being a little harsh after coming off the amazing Oasis which really pushes the boundaries of that kind of movie.

Sometimes hokey but overall solid. The 2 leads are really good and have good chemistry together. Sometimes it feels like a TV movie and I can't help thinking moms everywhere will love it but I still enjoyed it for what it was.

Beautiful movie about a relationchip between two person's that are really different and the "ties that bind". Appreciation and patience are the solution. Not really a deep movie, but beautiful to watch.

Dancy and Byrne, the afflicted and the normal respectively, play their parts with tremendous detail and concentration, and even though Dancy's details are the more ostentatious (the blindman's lack of eye contact, the panic attacks, the tantrums, the nonstop spiels), Byrne more than holds her own through ordinary human warmth and engagement. It's a standoff as well in suppression of native accents, English and Australian, his and hers.

acting and directing is good, but the plot is unoriginal and a bit boring

This is a very charming film that I enjoyed a lot. The performances are key, and the two lead actors, Dancy in particular, step up to the plate and really deliver. It felt natural, and I was quite immersed in the experience. Despite suffering from pacing issues and "magical disabled person syndrome" (if such a term exists), it's still a very fun film with an absolutely perfect ending. You're not in for heavy material here, but if you want a sweet romance movie, Adam might just fit the bill.

Sweet, poignant love story is performed well by a well-matched Dancy and Byrne – their inherent charisma and likability sustains a plot that (non-NT elements notwithstanding) is not particularly new or distinctive in the rom-dram realm; there’s also an oddly overdeveloped subplot for Gallagher, whose interest in his daughter’s love-life feels like a possible holdover from a draft where the two leads were younger. Still, warm and pleasant in a way typical for low-key indies from the naughts.

Too caught up in the maudlin "falling in love" subject matter that it fails to say anything worthwhile or substantial. But I have to give credit to Hugh Dancy for his understated and underappreciated performance that keeps this film from becoming a complete and total trainwreck. He manages to completely avoid the tendency to overact, which is often the case with roles such as this. So kudos to him.

Bittersweet. I'm more disabled than he in some ways, less in other ways. At least he is not overwhelmed when close to her. The ending destroyed the little hope I had.

The leads are thoroughly engaging, but the supporting players are largely one-note and the plot falls into mediocrity in the last segments of the movie. Still, it's a genuinely warm and moving.

Good performances from all involved in this enjoyable and focused story about love and life; some sweet touches as well without overdoing it included. *Preview*: #12#, exp-3*, reviews, story, (cast), R3.

18/9/9 - Light and sweet, with some wonderful cinematography and a few nice scenes. A little patchy, but a great ending.

Fantastically acted, beautifully shot and thoughtfully made. Byrne and Dancy have great chemistry and some scenes between them were absolutely heartbreaking. The ending is bittersweet and really caps off a great romantic comedy drama. I wish I had a Rose Byrne!

I'm so tired of the tortured genius scheme. This one is easy going, a bit schematic. Nothing much for or against it.

Problem with this movie is that You will have felling it is not finished at the end. From slow start and generally slow paced movie, you get to extremely fast and unfinished end. There is strong lack of consistency in script, and even with actually good acting of Dancy and Byrne (she is cute, isn't she?), You don't feel like You should at the end, given theme and basic idea. Neither You manage to relate and connect to the movie during watching.

26 Gener 2016 - Simple, convencional. Però m'ha emocionat, he empatitzat. M'han agradat les actuacions. La música més simple i que no diu res també em pot emocionar, qualsevol cosa que apareix en la conciència pot ser valuosa, suposo.

Despite the fact, that a protagonist has Asperger's Syndrom, it is just another romantic comedy/drama. Hugh Dancy was good, but Rose Byrne was just too sweet, unnatural. She talked to Adam like he was 5-year-old child, it felt wrong. There was no chemistry between them, I had an impression that they were together because they were bored, not because they needed each other.

New York-set romantic drama with a twist. Dancy never overdoes his role and Byrne is sympathetic without being cloying.

It was a heart-felt story that I was all on board to love, but the ending fell a little flat for me.
