Anne Hathaway wants to marry a guy named Fletch and his role is not played by Chevy Chase. One of the many things that are just plain wrong with this film. All I can say is that it was my date's birthday so you can guess who chose this one. Oh and in case you wanted to know she liked it.

If they had realised they were in love with each other, it would have had some great callbacks to the beginning of the film, especially the lawyer girl always being the bride. As it was, it was dull and trite, with the occasional faint smile at the "funny" parts.

While I really enjoyed parts of this film, and was surprised it was as good and touching as it was, there were parts that got a little over-the-top for my personal taste. That said, I enjoyed the film, though it's not one I feel immediately drawn to revisit.

I will also point out, however, that Bride Wars packs a laissez-faire attitude about something Dr. Laura would coldly call "shacking up." Living with your boyfriend is the only natural thing to do in this cinematic world. Not only that, but through three-quarters of the comedy women are blasting through liquor like Brian Urlacher through the Detroit Lions' offensive line. (pluggedin.com)

As a bigtime Kate Hudson fan, I'm sorry to report that Bride Wars was disappointing and not recommended for a price of a theater ticket. The premise had so much promise, and the cast does an admirable job with what it has to work with. However, when it all comes out in the wash, poorly written screenplays make bad movies.

Another entertaining yet normal chick flick. Two best friends fought to get a wedding in The Plaza. Nothing special about it, Kate and Ann was acting "okay" considering what they had to do is basically being themselves.
