Why Harrison?! Why, Harrison?

"Oh no, Harrison Ford in a generic action buddy cop/detective action film, lets give it a shit score." Quite frankly, just perusing the average scores of this movie made me feel that other criticker users were pretentious. Sure it wasn't good, but I'll be damned if say this isn't watchable. This is not as bad as Transformers or the Fast and the Furious series. But then again maybe I just like Harrison Ford.

I saw this the same weekend I watched The Core. Soon after I began drinking heavily.

Admittedly, it has a slightly odd feel about it, but this is more charming and amusing than critics and audiences at the time gave it credit for being (and is a rare case where I agree with Roger Ebert against the crowd). Harrison Ford isn’t the greatest actor in the world, but his likeability shows through. It’s a comedy that cares about its characters much more than it is a cop movie about trying to solve a murder, and contains numerous pleasurable moments, and a few hilarious ones.

Works as neither an action-thriller nor a comedy. A few good moments of subverting typical Hollywood cliches, but it's not enough to save the extremely disjointed story and lame humor.

This film is to be a comedy cop drama set in Hollywood. It doesn't work and you spent the whole time wondering just what was Harrison Ford and Josh Harnett thinking when they agreed to make this. Nothing really flows you just can't get into it.

Critically torn apart, this action-comedy actually worked for me overall. I admired the comic-timing of both Ford and Hartnett as cops who, in one scene, must chase a crook in a paddle-boat.

I liked the laid-back style of this one - funny throughout and ends in an applaudable action sequence.

Mostly crap, with occasional moments of comedy and an Andre 3000 appearance.

Not much of a movie. Only watchable on a rainy Sunday afternoon, when there's nothing else to do and even then...

The idea here was charming, but as a whole it feels a bit half-heartedly put together.

The duo has surprising chemistry. Only Harrison Ford could have made believable the ridiculous character of the cop who takes calls for his second job in real estate during a chase. Has some fun moments.

This film has a bad script. There is also no chemistry between the two lead actors. The action scenes are nothing that we have not seen before in better movies. Overall I would say avoid this one.

Arguably the most boring movie I've ever seen... And I like Harrison and Josh!

When Dark Blue was rather good movie, then Hollywood Homicide is more a flop on Ron Shelton's resume. The plot is confusing and same time boring. Actors don't add something extra either. Anyway, you don't lose anything if you pass this movie.

saw it on HBO. Thank God that it works out to like.08 cent per movie. This movie might be worth that.

Was a good buddy movie that had some original situations. A little too much like Lethal Weapon for its own good.

Horrible. I blame that skinny woman Harrison Ford hooked up with. What the hell is wrong with you dude? You used to be Han Solo!!

I'm a mild admirer of Shelton's, in that his stuff is mildly more amusing than yer usual POS, and while this has some decent lines and action, there's a real wearying wackiness to it (Harrison Ford's negotiating real estate during a car chase! Now he's commandeering a little girl's bike!). This'll sound ugly but it also kinda stinks for movies that Lolita Davidovich's career was mostly limited to minor roles in his films while raising their children. She's pure radiant light, is all I'm saying.

Not bad action/comedy in the vein of all those 80's action comedies. Ford has some nice scenes and Hartnett provides decent support.
