The modern day Medusa whines her way through what has to be the worst film of all time. I literally wanted to reach into the screen and strangle her after about 20 minutes. Everything that was wonderful about Lena Wertmueller's original film is absent from this abortion of a film. Avoid this film at all costs, it should come with the Surgeon Generals warning.

Genuinely one of the worst films I've ever seen (and that's saying something). The two leads are some of the most unlikeable characters you'll ever encounter (particularly the man). It's misogynistic as fuck, the script is vomitive, the story paper-thin, the performances are horrendous. What a putrid movie, gosh.

A film with more unlikable leads, you will be hard pressed to find. It's annoying and rambling and misogynistic. All the things you look for in a romance film and in life. Donald Trump probably has this as a Tier 10.

I don't think I can do justice to the rage I felt while watching this punishingly shit film. I just cannot convey, in words, how much I hated it. Madonna is just the worst actor, she was trying to deliver the words as if she was in a period drama or a Shakespear play but they were written by someone who has only read trashy romance novels. I will now pad out the rest of this review: shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shi

Yes, this movie really is as bad as they it is. Swept Away earns the first spot on my Desert Island list of films I'd least want to take with me. The capital offenders are Guy Ritchie (whose adapted screenplay is vapid) and Madonna (whose acting is atrocious). Stay away from this movie! It's not even so-bad-it's-funny. It's so bad it's bewildering.

If this were not a remake, it would maybe get a higher score. Alas, it is, and it gets a "Stay Away" score. Not that the the original was a masterpiece, just really good, but it had better actors, a better director, better photography, and an original concept. Do you really have to endure madonna just to spare yourself a few subtitles?

I am really surprised that this movie is so badly rated. I mean it's not a masterpiece or anything special, but there is really nothing wrong with it, just another OK movie. From now on I'll always decide my grade before seeing others, because it makes an influence.

One of the most poorly put together films I have ever seen and another skidmark on Madonna's long list of vanity projects.

Wait… *the* Guy Ritchie? For that matter, wait… *the* Madonna? Inexplicable head-scratcher of a disaster, spearheaded by a talented partnership who should have been able to accidentally come up with something better than this – you can’t even call it a vanity project, because Madonna is presented in the most unattractive light possible (in every sense of the word). A dire and embarrassing lack of chemistry between the two leads make the icky, tough-sell premise even harder to swallow.

Incredible, that one and same guy has directed the absolute brilliant "Snatch" and one the worst movies "Swept Away". Singers should be singers and actresses should stay actresses. When Besson made a excellent tribute to Jovovich. Guy Ritchie didn't succeed to this to Madonna.

Who on earth thought it was a good idea to remake the perfectly good original, especially with this talent-free twat? I was so numbed by it that I think I would need to see it again to decide if there might be some redeeming "so awful it's great" camp buried somewhere in the muck... but I don't think that's going to happen.

I always thought Madonna had only one good role in her, Evita, but this is a second. How could she play this part and not learn something from it. Or who knows what she's really like, she could have brought something to it.

Worked for me on a "so bad it's good" level. Madonna, of all people, being abused and humiliated was interesting to watch.
