It has its good and bad points. Good points...Jason was strong, cunning, fast, and a skilled predator; he had tunnels underground (which explained how he got around so fast during the past 20-years); pretty woman (a big part of the series). Bad points...a very, very slow movie. It was about 20-minutes or more before the characters in the movie was introduced. Not bloody enough, no camp councilors, and too bland.
Criticker.com - the Best Film Recommendations on the Net!

Someone was actually able to create a new scary creature. These cavemen creatures were great characters, especially the way they were able to adapt. They were real. They were not supernatural. You felt like these women could beat them if they could themselves first. I did not like the ending. Did she get out? Was she still inside? Part two come out later this year, 2009.
Criticker.com - the Best Film Recommendations on the Net!

It showed just how close the war was to homes. My favorite scene is when Gabriel is standing on the second floor and watching the battle in the yard. Great story and scenes. Mel Gibson does a superb job acting in this movie. This is one of the few movies without sex as a major theme. I like to be movies to be laytone with sex, or none at all. There is a lot of violence that keeps this from being a family-friendly movie.
Criticker.com - the Best Film Recommendations on the Net!

But, after hearing so many people say it was great, I had to watch it. I am glad I did. The storyline and acting is fantastic. The only thing I did not like was scene on the snowy mountain. It was not as believable. Loved the ending. Loved the scenes. People young and old with varying tastes said it is a great movie, I agree, it is! The lure of the past and the videography made it great. Then throw in an uplifting storyline, the acting of Tom Berenger and Barbara Hershey and a good storyline, you have a great movie. The part that was lacking was in the overall pursuit of Tom's character (Lewis) by the sheriff. I did not buy the entire story that he chased Lewis because of what happened to his daughter. Except for some lanquage, this movie is very family friendly.
Criticker.com - the Best Film Recommendations on the Net!
