Apart from some scenes screaming like a high school short film, overall it is a decent watch. Although I hated some characters and it is overly dramatic at times, it keeps you interested.

I wanted to like this more than I did. The premise is excellent, and the set-up had so much potential, but the characters just couldn't hold me, and the further the season got, the more it seemed to veer from the original tone.

Plotline feels shallow at best, puzzle are pulled out from standard puzzles found online. Arisu devolves from super genius in first episode to crying in face of adversity in S2E3

The writing is amazing, and the psychological and suspenseful way the story progression makes this show a blast to watch! only thing i am personally not that into is the anime-style main character being so good all the time and stuff, but thats just me. Otherwise a great show, and i think this is better than squid games or titles alike. Best show i have watched so far personally!

Thinking about where they were transported, how this could realistically work and how to solve the games was the main appeal for me. The world here is very well thought out and thinking about the different theories at the end was great. My main issues are that Arisu and his love interest become static characters early on as their inner problems are solved, the color grading isnt the best, there isnt really a mise en scene so the film looks generic, some low quality stories and some obvious games

I honestly felt that this was better than Squid Game, though sharing a similar premise (Asians play simple childhood games that have fatal consequences to the losers). There were a few shocking plot turns, though I honestly felt they didn't know how to end the thing and the ultimate finale, while not disappointing, still left me wanting more. It gets a solid recommendation.

s1: 70 // s2: 80. I seem to always come up against an uncanny valley in Japanese media and Alice in Borderland has it: over the top acting, too melodramatic at times, constant fake laughing. And you can't deny the fact that this comes out in the Squid Game's shadow. But there's something here and it's deeper than it seems. And, while it doesn't stick the landing, I kept coming back and enjoyed it.

This isn't the worse show, but it is dumb. Better than many terrible shows, but basically written to accommodate all the sentimentalities and complexities of 12 year olds. So if you're an adult, it's not complex. It's a high school action-drama where death is on the line. Not super interesting but not terrible.

Enjoyable, but there are other shows that do each aspect of this show better. And this one doesn't really have a perspective.

Pros - the games; the fighting and action; the world-building; the ending, where almost everything clicks into place. Cons - many lengthy flashbacks; the same flashbacks repeated; some characters' self-depreciation/pity way too exaggerated. Fun - Japanese romantic shyness. A very interesting ride.

Wasn't rally feeling the characters strong enough for this squid'sih game. Good moments here and there, but few I could get behind.

One of the worst shows I've ever seen. It's an unironic caricature of shitty American action films with zero identity of its own. The only thing missing is a Bruce Willis cameo.

Pretty watchable, but as fluffy as it gets and lacks an overarching viewpoint, thrills is all there is to it.
