Six episodes of nigh-perfect British comedy. Hugely enjoyable and imminently rewatchable.

The best series of Black-Adder, hands down. Fry and Laurie are hilarious, and upgrading Black Adder from being a bumbling idiot to being a devilish sarcastic genius who is constantly undone by his moronic accomplices was a stroke of brilliance. Right up there as some of the best material ever produced for British TV.

My favorite Edmund performance.

Probably the funniest of the four Black Adders. It strikes good balance between the leads sleaziness and his cleverness.

Vast improvement on the first. Atkinson has fully adopted the weaselly, intelligent persona of Blackadder that works so well against the foil of Baldrick. This is what he should be remembered for, not Mr. Bean and Johnny English.

Brimming with wit and improving and expanding upon its characters, the second Blackadder series is the first in the trifecta of absolutely definitive, highly rewatchable TV entertainment rounded off by "Black Adder the Third" and "Blackadder Goes Forth". The actors are stellar and their interplay majestic; all episodes are consistently funny and the Elizabethan setting amusing; the dialogues are extremely quotable and Blackadder's newfound acidic sarcasm in particular simply delicious.

My favourite of the BlackAdder series, simply because this is my favourite incarnation of Blackadder. Loads of great characters and brilliantly written. The best thing Curtis and Atkinson have ever done by a mile. "Bells" is an almost perfect sitcom episode.

The jokes didn’t land; they’re mostly dry and mean spirited. lol Sounds great, right? But the characters were too unlikeable.

A step up from the first series but the queen grew increasingly annoying as the series went on.

A noted improvement, what with doing away with medieval Mr. Bean. But still I wonder, "what's the fuss?" It seems Miranda Richardson is meant to be so annoying that it becomes funny, but she only made it half-way for me.

Humorous at times, banal at most other times. Still watchable, but a disappointment after the solid first series.

Not quite as good as the final series, but still superb.

Atkinson has developed the persona he'll use for the rest of the show, and it's excellent, but everything else seems lacking.

I think I may like this the least of all Blackadder series, because it's more low-brow and just a bit too vulgar at the expense of good humor. There are still some good laughs though.
