Quality drama about very mundane things. Kate Winslet is good as usual and Jackie Earle Haley really shines.

Watched this in a hotel room after losing the keys to my apartment. Couldn't figure out how to turn off the motion smoothing. Truly abysmal experience.

In a lot of ways it's the movie The Old Dark House should have been. There's some great humor and the twists are rather unexpected. Typical '30s weird menace done right.

Finely tuned period drama with an ensemble cast I wouldn't have minded spending more than two hours with. Comer impressed me as Kathy whose engaging telling of the story elevates the film.

I greatly enjoyed this movie, which I have not seen since 1991. In my view, it deserves greater appreciation than it seems to have attracted. Catherine Keener is excellent.

Very interesting documentary giving some insights to Miyazaki's work. Colleagues like Isao Takahata are featured as well. Highly inspiring are Miyazaki's opinions on human responsibility.

Lots of video footage of nothing happening. It's cool to see young Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin in high def, but after about 45 minutes, I was feeling a little like "goodnight, moon", if ya know what I mean.

I don't really like this as much as Chungking Express or Fallen Angels, but it's interesting. The cinematography is gorgeous, of course.

The characters interact with the ecosystem with too much ease, which didn't feel plausible. Great premise though.

I found this pretty shallow and painfully generic. Same goes for the music. I did like some of the animation and I'm sure with a bigger budget and/or more time it would have looked even better.
