It's your standard by numbers cop drama movie. Ed Norton gives a great performance, but everyone else is severely lacking. I thought the scene where Norton fights Colin Farrell at the end in the bar was awesome though.

(TIFF 08') Another attempt at making a genuine crime film, but it's just a boring dramatic work from O'Connor, who fills the screen with too many one dimensional characters you don't give a damn about and scenes that are supposed to evoke an emotional response, but that ultimately annoy you (there was one scene that was just too fucked up for words). You can sit this one out or wait for the DVD...

Edward Norton continues to make medicore films after a brilliant start to his career.

A pretty predictable crime/drama. Not an awful plot, though years from now It'll not stand out the way great crime/dramas like The Departed. And I hate Colin Farrel. He was more bearable in this film, but as far as I'm concerned, him and Paul Walker turn everything they touch to shit.

Huge letdown. The trailer looked good but the movie is so stupid. But what it lacks in intelligence it makes up for in excessive violence and an all too familiar storyline. Noah Emmerich looks like they just pulled him from the street - he really can't act at all. Everyone else is fine but the movie is so goddamn boring. Pass on this.

Typical cops and criminals story, elevated and made slightly less boring by billing Norton and Farrell as the name draws. It never quite reaches the level of urgency you would expect and is rather lacklustre in the age old debate of career vs family. One could have only hoped for much better with those two leads. Run of the mill.

Pride and Glory is, admittedly, not the most original corrupt-cop-thriller and it has it's weak spots, but it's a gritty cop-thriller with enjoyable performances (especially by Ed Norton).

This is a cliched but gritty story of corruption in the police force set in New York. Edward Norton plays his role superb as always and Colin Farrell is the big shock for me as he was great at playing the nasty character. Worth watching if your a fan of cop dramas but you may want to give it a miss if your not

I was really let down. It's far from bad, but isn't really good. If you don't see it you wouldn't be missing much because it's about as standard a cop drama you can get. Grade: C Plus

A dissapointing outing by Norton, which is a rarity although he personally was good. The film was similar to The Usual Suspects in that you wait a good hour and a half, and the ending is the only the thing that really made the movie worth watching. But don't misunderstand: this film is nowhere near as good as The Usual Suspects.

What a surprise that this by-the-numbers procedural film about crooked cops and family ties actually holds up well amidst all the cliches it's been brewed in. It's not exactly action-driven as it's definitely a pure-bred drama, but it is well-acted and interesting. Too bad some of the minor characters aren't developed more - but Norton, Farrell and Voight have decent performances. I'm recommending this because it's more exciting than the recent "We Own the Night" and "Street Kings" combined.

Its not original, it wont take your breath away but many of the reviews seem overly harsh. A decent watch if perhaps an all too familiar film landscape. Ed Norton as always impresses.

Fair enough, it has it's problems (that stupid bar fight scene belonged to a completly seperate film) but it has some amazing scenes and at times the acting is top notch

Solid, but not exceptional in any way. It has a couple of good moments, but a fair share of pretty bad ones too, particuarly the terrible Norton/Farrell fight scene in the Irish bar. There's nothing too original here, and to be honest if you never see it you won't be missing much. But if this movie does come your way, it is still a perfectly acceptable watch.

Norton (always good) and Colin were good picks for their roles. They played a great two path story. I wondered during parts, if real cops, and precincts were mostly like this or still are. I know there is always corruption, but is it really this rampant as Hollywood portrays.

While there are some golden moments to be found, like Ed Norton's performance, most of the film is very unbalanced. Some of the characters are one dimensional cardboard bullcrap too, ruining the theater experience for me. A decent Crime Drama overall.

Boring and ridiculous. O'Connor obviously thought he was crafting scenes with some emotional heft, but I can't muster any sympathy for these undeveloped, uninteresting characters.

I've seen it all before and alot of the scenes bored the hell out of me because I know what it's all about. Cop family where some are honest and some are not and they get into all sorts of drama. And I don't wanna see another cop funeral in my life. It adds nothing. It's like showing someone take a piss, in slow motion, with only music in the background. That said, it's better than most of the movies it has "copied".

The performances and direction are okay here, but nothing outstanding. The problem is that the story is too obvious, without much depth in the characters, stereotypical and bureaucratic.
