The writers did a shabby job of setting up the story. Much of the plot does not pass the smell test. The acting performances were mostly good. Good music, sound, and SFX. The plot is badly flawed. Rosamund Pike and Clive Owen were woefully underutilized. Joel Kinnaman was good. Worth watching if you can accept the pitiful plot.

It's completely okay from start to finish. Do you need to see this movie? Absolutely not. But if it, for some reason, starts playing right in front of you and you, for some reason, cannot leave, it won't kill you.

Gritty, solidly paced and featuring great work by Kinnaman and the rest of the cast; this competent crime thriller is only brought down by some odd narrative choices during the third act.

Coming out of this (perfectly serviceable but very derivative) movie, I knew that I would probably forget almost any detail within days. Sitting down to write this review a few weeks later, I can confirm that I was right.

A surprisingly good time and quite a bit better than its peers in the straight-to-VHS unlikely-action thriller genre. Clive Owen was a false note. Joel Kinnaman basically plays the same character as in The Killing, which is great because he was the best thing in that show. I really love Kinnaman as an action hero, he has it all. Pair him up with Pike and i'm purring for 2 hours

Meh, expected more. Very forgettable movie with the good old unfair double cross...

Only kind of ok. Nothing in the story is especially original, the actual time he spends in prison could have been more suspenseful, and everyone's morality tends to be so inconsistently grey that you never feel like there's a general sense of order. Kinnaman does a fine job, as do Common, de Armas and Pike, but OWen plays such a one note evil FBI guy that never makes much of an impact.

I liked it more than I expected; somehow they got the menacing, overbearing feeling of Polish gangs (they were active in Ireland when I used to live there and you don't mess with them). I admired Kinneman, he handled the sense of urgency of his character very well, Pike was very good too, she is a very nuanced actress. I hated Owen's character though. The film felt a bit compressed, with too many things happening all of a sudden in the end.

War veteran Pete Koslow has been released early after his assault conviction by negotiating a deal with the FBI forcing him to infiltrate the Polish mafia in New York. Just as the operation comes to an end, things go horribly wrong with the unexpected interference of an undercover agent of the NYPD who is killed in the process. The NYPD investigation soon establishes a link with Koslow, after which the FBI decides to drop him hard. Who can still trust Koslow?

not many movies released lately due to all that diaperwearing so found that film...and it was alright... but prolly would have required 3-6hour (series format) to be good.

Solid enough thanks to Kinnaman and his likable presence in any film he is in. Aside from that it was fairly generic plot wise with a few kickstart twists in the right places to keep the film energized and focused on the end game. Could have a tighter narrative through out the middle ground, everyone kinda came off as sketchy for a while which always hurts a film. Not complicated in any regard could have packed a little more substance into the finale for it to be set apart from other films..

it can not be considered as a different movie of its ancestors in this genre. Worth to watch once. not more.

Strangely convoluted for no apparent reason. Also pretty boring. Ana de Armas, Clive Owen and Rosamund Pike are all really bad.
