Vamp

A comedy where there are no jokes just comedic situations in which people act like jokes are being told, kind of a cargo-cult comedy. Then there's the strip club where only a few of the women strip and everyone is entranced by Grace Jones bizarre gyrations (not to mention her manly features and general grossness). Then there's the horror, tame and unexciting

So very, very, very dated. It's stupid and fun, and Jones is gloriously weird as usual.

This is naff, but surprisingly good fun, ably assisted by the garish neon visuals and the bizarreness of Grace Jones. It should be scarier and/or funnier, but this is a reasonably diverting and likeably rubbish effort.

There are only 2 briefly exciting moments - 1 w/ an elevator & another, a clingy little girl. The movie does throw in some unexpected moments & tries to keep us guessing about who's gone bad, but it still mostly feels like a nothing-special B-movie. Jones is striking but, like most of the heroes, not interesting. (Although Makepeace IS Mel Gibson's TWIN!) There's a stereotypical Asian w/ dumb jokes & even most of the strippers are egregiously lame. They couldn't at least get hot strippers!?

Absolutely scared the shit out of me when I was 11. Grace Jones is so freaky.

Coming out just one year before "The Lost Boys", "Vamp" has more in common with "From Dusk Til Dawn" than it does 80's vampire flicks. It's just a fun horror flick, focusing on entertainment, rather than scares. It's a hidden gem to those who've already burned through the better known classics, but this one deserves every bit of praise as the best vampire movies of the decade.

If Robert Rodriguez had made this, replaced LA with Mexico, Grace Jones with Salma Hayek, people would regard it as a classic.

After Hours reworked with horny teens and Grace Jones as an inspired (but sadly under-utilised) vampire. Contains a great non-album Grace Jones track, too.

Bland, but watchable horror comedy from the 1980's.

Passes the time.

Watch this mostly for Grace Jones being her usual awesome self.

A movie that totally underutilizes it amusing premise. The biggest problem is that the movie lessens all tension by instead having it all take place in the stripclub, the hero constantly goes outside. It also makes the mistake off killing of its most fun character way too soon. The comedy is meh and the acting is extremely wooden. Grace Jones is severely miscast. There is still some fun to be had with this typical 80s teenagers plus vampires flick, but it could have been so much better.

Vamp, a Noite dos Vampiros estreava há 35 anos nos EUA. Divertido filme oitentista de vampiros que me impressionou por não ser tão cult quanto outros do mesmo gênero daquela década. Grace Jones com pintura corporal de Keith Haring é cool demais para nós mortais, além de ser uma das mulheres mais lindas que já agraciaram o planeta Terra. BlurayRip YTS.

This was about everything I wanted it to be. While it definitely misses the mark at times, it hits enough to make up for that. The cast is solid,, & there's a stylistic flair to it that adds quite a bit. The script is fun & has a good balance of humor & tension, with some great one-liners & nice running gags. The plot is a bit thin to be quite honest, but it's not too much of a problem. Grace Jones' striking vampire getup is awesome. This is definitely a hidden 80's gem worth seeing.
