Like the later seasons of Sherlock, this series gets a little too cutesy and "aren't we clever?" for its own good, but at the end of the day it's an entertaining horror-comedy that proves that there's life in this undead character yet.

The last episode is a bafflingly huge misfire, and I recommend that you skip it. The middle one is decent, and the first is rather good, but the main reason to check those out is the very good casting of Bang as Dracula and the coolness that Wells exhibits at every turn as his adversary.

Claes Bang is king of the vampires, and this Transylvanian camp fest keeps your hangover at bay until the final act kind of out-Sherlocks itself.

Bereft of suspense, let alone horror, but with atrocious effects and a risibly predictable script, "Dracula" stays afloat for the first two episodes thanks to Claes Bang and Dolly Wells's solid acting, some surprisingly witty banter and a certain amount of curiosity. Yet the cat is indeed brutally killed in the last episode, which - boring, obnoxious, idiotic and a more than fitting candidate for the "Worst 90 Minutes Ever Filmed" award - takes a painfully huge dump on Bram Stoker's classic.

I wish they'd stay in the 19th century. I sorta get the aspiration to break formula, but I don't really think the modern settings give this adaptation more than a few notions of "I see what you did there". Considering that Agatha was by far the best part of the series.

Claes Bang is legitimately one of the very best Draculas I've ever seen, and the first two episodes managed to stay true to Bram Stoker's novel, while adding the kind of fresh ideas you've would expect from the writers of Sherlock. Now, while I appreciate the liberties taken in the final episode, it didn't work for me, leaving the ending feeling downright anticlimax.

First two episodes, pretty damn good. Last episode, I see what they are going for but doesn't really work. Claes Bang was good.

Im so conflicted, the first ep and the second ep were really good but the last episode was so stupid and made no sense. When I found out who wrote it, it made so much sense. Like BBC's Sherlock, starts very strong and ends with a whimper.

An enigma of incompetence. As a three-part mini-series, none of the episodes feel connected beyond chronology & cast, nothing feels settled and everything feels purposeless. Bang is a charismatic Count & parts flirts with interesting ideas, but there's never a sense of overarching narrative & the whole thing comes off lazy & obnoxious, killing characters without rhyme or reason and never establishing consistent lore. This doesn't even scratch the surface. It's a complete joke.

This was a pretty solid series, although not perfect. The first episode was bloody brilliant, and the second episode was solid. The third takes the series in a very different direction that I did not expect, but I thought was still pretty interesting. Unfortunately, it didn't quite live up to the first two episodes, although still good. Now, Moffat and Gatiss, since you're done with this, back to Sherlock, yeah?

A wonderfully over-the-top constantly smug take on the characters and I also loved Van Helsing reimagined as a cool nun. I didn't hate the third part, but like that episode of Sherlock that took place in Victorian London, I didn't really see any reason for the timeshift. Except that they apparently wanted to show off how good Dracula was at grasping modern technology. Also, how come no-one on TV have a fucking pin-lock on their phone?!?

Stoker's story told once again with a few interesting twists and slightly modernized environment. The story has unfortunately been told way too many times and there isn't enough novelty here to justify a 4 and half hour runtime; however I do admit that I did really enjoy the new stuff and story points added to the plot, still I would have prefered a shorter presentation. The last 5 minutes of the final episode were definitely the peak of the show and the twist there is worth seeing.

Apart from the series defining twist that occurs at the start of the third episode, I was desperately disappointed that the writers of Sherlock wrote such constantly predictable fare. For me the first episode was dreadful and vastly inferior to just about any other telling of the Dracula legend. The second was better but still sub standard, while the third was at least a novel take even if too much time was spent setting up characters and backstory for season two and the conclusion was anemic.
