I was simply unable or unwilling to get the remote to change the channel. There have been dark times in my life indeed.

Oh wow, there are probably a hundred reasons why this film sucked, starting with the highly unrealistic premise that anyone could make a 180-deg turn overnight on his outtake on life and relationships, just because he was confronted with his past mistakes.

Perhaps this movie will end up being a guilty pleasure of mine. I don't necessarily believe in such things, but if you do, this one would be on my list. I liked it. I thought it was charming, full of energy, and simply light-hearted fun. It avoided many rom-com clichés, even if it would have been better with a ... less confident actor in the lead role. Regardless, I had a good time with Ghosts of Girlfriends Past, and I can't not recommend it as a result, cheesy as it may be.

Typical Matthew McConaughey romantic comedy meets The Christmas Carol. Highly predictable, but enjoyable. Jokes for all personalities

My "probable score" from criticker was 30.. But they were wrong this time, I liked this movie more. Its nothing special, but its a solid comedy flick with decent performance from MM.

Yeah I really couldn't do this one. I love McConaughey as much as the next guy, but this one killed me. It's not funny, it's plot is a bad take on a good one, and I HATE Jennifer Garner. Never get conned into this one.

Little funny movie. The main character go to the future with the help of some ghost like his uncle and ex-girlfriend. And finally he recover his mistakes. Not much enjoyed this movie.

Connor Mead(Matthew McConaughey)loves freedom, fun and women. A committed bachelor with a no-strings policy, he thinks nothing of breaking up with multiple women. Connor's brother Paul is about to be married. Unfortunately, on the eve of the big event Connor's mockery of romance proves a real buzz-kill for Paul wedding party and a houseful of well wishers-including Connor's childhood friend Jenny (Jennifer Garner), the one woman in his life who has always seemed immune to his considerable charm.

This is low-hanging fruit to be sure but it's not nearly as bad as I was expecting.

Found it to be quite amusing. The only problem I have with this story is that I liked the McConaughey of the beginning of the film far more than the cheesy nitwit he becomes.

This is honestly up there with one of the worst movies I've ever seen. It has absolutely no redeemable feature at all. It was completely awful in every aspect.

Interesting take on A Christmas Carol.

Ghosts of Girlfriends Past was released in May, but is set in a snowy location and is based on a A Christmas Carol. While it may not be entirely relevant to debate the classification of this film as Xmas flick, doing so is more interesting than earnestly watching this film. Stone and Douglas are the only ones who are actually entertaining. McConaughey and Garner are decent, but the writing hovers between lazy and bad, to the point that the film isn't that enjoyable.

"The plot's eventual denigration of the single life and endorsement of soul mates and happily-ever-afters is predictably rote." - Nick Schager

The Matthew McConaughey remake of 'A Christmas Carol' works on a surprising number of levels: with a brilliant cast including Micheal Douglas as the deceased, joyfully lecherous mentor, Emma Stone as the retro trash 'ghost' of girlfriends past and Lacy Chabert as herself. The genre trappings are all here (why do all of the recent romcoms make weddings the setting?) but so are the clever, sometimes even funny, moments that help elevate this above the garbage heap of recent date movies.

Just like all romantic comedys it is 100% predicatble and everything always Works out in the end. But for some odd reason I actually enjoyed this!

You know I'm shocked to say it's a much better script than I thought it would be and a surprisingly effective performance by Matthew McConaughey (who, for the first time, I didn't hate). All things considered I think this is an enjoyable, clever movie for men and women, even if it is extremely formulaic.

I ashamedly laughed twice in the same scene - Michael Douglas referring to his car as the Stabbin' Wagon, and McConaughey saying "you know he invented the word MILF"
