Great looking boring piece of crap. It just isn’t a super white washed horror movie until poor Lin Shaye pops up.

Just ends up being a boring horror movie. That's because it doesn't build to its jump scares, and they aren't that effective to begin with. Aside from that, there's a good story to tell here and I'm assuming I should probably just watch the original Ju-On to get that. I've never found the throat noises to be scary at all and that continues here. Sad thing is, this is better than the first American version, and yet it will undoubtedly be one of the worst movies I see this year.

A rambling mess that doesn't know what it wants to be. There are 2 decent scares in the movie. Not worth the time.

surprised at how engaged with pathos of death this movie was able to pull off. The haunted nature of suffering from disease/old age. The nuance it has with dealing with abortion. It’s still like nothing special and because it is a Hollywood produced remake you can feel pesce being reigned in as director. You can tell he wants to go full fucked up Italian horror movie but instead has to be relegated to bland post conjuring haunted house stuff.

Some of the performances were good, but the film is empty at its core. Horror needs subtext to work and this is sadly lacking in that department. The whole thing amounts to a few repetitive jump scares. Severely underwritten, and just downright boring.

Trashy genre horror given a decent sparkle and coat of paint by Pesce's unsettling direction and a first rate cast, who invest this familiar material with class and conviction (especially Shaye, who must be considered a patron saint at this point). Compared to his earlier EYES, it is perhaps a shame that Pesce enlivens his material without ever quite transcending it - it's a "jump scarer" which never quite reaches the moodiness of more distinguished horror. Still good (and scary) stuff.

I just don't careeeee. Zero scares, a plot that's all over and nowhere, no reason to give a shit about any of the characters. A remake of a remake? Why was this even made? I liked the idea of a detective looking into things but in the end, it just fell apart by jumping all over with the plot so much that it completely lost me at some point and I was just staring at the screen going derp. Nice end titles, though. I will give it that much.

The Grudge's problem is that throughout the film you can feel the franchise clawing on the walls for a reason that it should further exist. I love John Cho as much as the next guy so as long as it gives him a vehicle to star in then I guess it's not worthless, but this movie is pretty hard to justify.

This might be the worst film this century. Nothing works.

Actually kind of creepy. Would’ve liked to have seen this in a theatre with people who were into it

At first this film just felt off and like another failed remake but by about the half way point I made a discovery that made me like it a bit more. And that's the fact that this is less a remake/sequel than it is a movie version of a season of American Horror Story.

This installment in the franchise is OK but not very scary. The original foreign movie is the one to watch.

If the COVID pandemic has taught us anything, it's that contact tracing proves how innocuous our interactions can be to have community spread. Ergo, this premise loses some steam with me based on the idea that ONE person can be super-mad when they die, and the fucking Grudge happens and ALL of us die. Egregious time-hopping to boot. From what I remember about the OG Grudge, this "sidequel" is an improvement for the franchise; at least, given that it wasn't as "funny in a bad way" as 2004.

This is the movie that up-their-own-asses posers thought the 2004 version was without seeing it (to be fair, they probably didn't see the original either). Except...well, this is just tepid, not bad. Oh, and the cast is pretty fantastic here. It's one Danny McBride and Judy Greer away from being tailor-made for me.

Constant, exhausting bombardment of cheap, predictable, disgusting jump scares. Many forgettable, underwritten characters with zero meaningful dialogue. Shifts between visually bland and just plain ugly. Not even worthwhile as a "so bad it's good" movie.

Holy shit, what a trash fire. Still, not without a redeeming sequence; I enjoyed the senile elderly lady's scenes.

Japon korku klasiği ABD kaçarsa. 1 anne, eski perili evde kaldıktan sonra, yeni ABD evine gelir. Eve yerleşen öcü, eve giren herkesi öldürmeye başlar. Bir ileri bir geri kurgusuyla dön dolaş başa dön kuralına uymuşlar. Klişe sahneler korkutsa da, koyu tonda anlatım başarılı. Fakat, filmde yenilik yok. Bütün öcü filmlerinden karışık demet. Filmin sonunda, anne polisimiz, evden kurtulup, tuzağa düşüyor. Grudge içine True Detective kaçmış.
