One of a handful of documentaries where when it was over I wanted to hear one of those farts.

Among other things, I like how the documentary starts and finishes with his family. While the doc goes at length about the myth and legend of Andre, it traces back to the actual humanity of Andre.

This documentary provided more information about Andre the Giant than I ever expected to know. His story is both amazing and a little sad. It effectively explains the rise of wrestling in the US and the life of the iconic Andre the Giant character. Well worth watching even for those who might not be wrestling fans.

Both the person and the character are so fascinating that it would be impossible to make a documentary about him that isn't good. Has interviews with everybody you expect and would want. Weird to see Vince McMahon get emotional about his death, but his emotions were probably more to do with losing a moneymaker than a great person.

Decent documentary on one of the most fascinating entertainers to ever live. Disappointed that they didn't dive into his career in Japan and that they probably left most viewers thinking the poor guy lived out the remainder of his days as a despised heel, and considering Hogan's status as persona non grata it was weird seeing him in so prominent a role, though I suppose there was no way around it. Enjoyable. 24th film of 2018.

Compelling documentary and interesting guy; literally "larger than life".

What I got from this documentary, is that multi-billion dollar industry that pro-wrestling is, was built on one psychically sick man. So now I think pro-wresting isn't just incredibly dumb, but also morally disgusting. Everyone in the docu were saying what a great man Andre was, but I learned very little about his personality and what made him a great man, except his condition that actually made him suffer his whole life.

A solid piece on an absolutely fascinating person who led a pretty difficult existence. Not sure I really learned anything new but I was still entertained throughout.

Some of the interviewees (both participants and "experts") have a strange tendency to half act as if what goes on during the bouts isn't pre-planned, leaving an impression that we aren't really penetrating too far into the events discussed. Roussimoff seems personable enough from what we are shown (which is not that much), but there really isn't that much to the story.

Very well done, but too much time spent on Hogan.

David Shoemaker claims André is a mythologized figure on the level of Ghengis Khan or Julius Caesar — ordinary men who became the subject of mythic stories passed down over generations. The documentary backs this up by allowing Hulk Hogan to tell obviously bullshit lies about their WrestleMania match for an extraordinarily long time.

Not a very interesting life story, you can probably guess quite a lot by yourself. Still it is interesting to see how a gigantic man like André lived and died and how he endured the physical pain caused by his condition.

I grew up watching Andre the Giant wrestle on television. This documentary is a fascinating look at parts of his life. This is a must see for any Andre the Giant fan.

Great doc about the big man. Some varnishing of history by the WWE.
