People of Wal-Mart: The Series. You might laugh at them, but in the end you're mostly just depressed that such people exist. Has one of the bleakest endings of any sitcom ever next to "Dinosaurs."

Sarah Chalke is like whenever a group of adults are invested in a game of monopoly, but a small child wanders in and wants to play. You try to keep up the game, but it stops being fun, becomes an embarrassing ordeal, everything breaks down and all the pieces fall to the floor. (As the quality of the show declines, the man-hating increases. Feminism isn't a hate group, sista friend)

This was a total rerun staple on TV in the afternoons in the 90s. It was only ever really slightly funny but watchable all the same. At the time I remember finding it slightly depressing in its working class woes, but looking at it now that I'm much closer to the age of Roseanne and Dan myself I'm like, shit, these people have a goddamn multi-floor house with bedrooms for everyone and a nice size kitchen and garage, they got it made. John Goodman is of course excellent and makes the show.

Not sure what I would think of it now, but as a young kid this show felt more honest than other sitcoms. I also had a crush on Darlene.

One of the few down to earth series, really enjoyed the show. In its 8th season, the show had some weak episodes, but still performed better than most of the very late seasons of other shows. But S9... the final Plottwist, which I think is kinda okay, the problem is everything in between, which is just not really funny and way too exaggerated that you only find out at the end why everything is suddenly so out of character probably makes things worse than you would have known it from 9.1 onwards.

Unlike other whites it comes of its time, this series felt more genuine and down to earth depicting a flawed working class family.

I'm not sure how to rate this. For years it was one of the best. I was growing up in a poor white trash environment so it was nice to have something on TV that spoke to me in some way. I identified with David for a lot of reasons. Then they won the lottery and ruined it. One of the worst things in TV history. The lottery year was so bad, I never bothered with the revival. Then Roseanne ruined it by being a twitter user. Blarg.

Critics talked this up a whole bunch, but I watch tv shows to escape my reality, not see it mirrored.

Was a good series back when I watched it. Not my favorite show or anything. Just watched it because t.v was so limited with it's channels that if a show came on, you just had to watch it.

Despite its very weak finish in the 9th season (and even its cliffhanger uncomfortable episode at the end of the 8th season), Roseanne did very well at engaging me in the troubles of a struggling household with biting humor and wit. It really shines around the 5th and 6th seasons.

Growing up as poor white trash in the cultural wasteland that is the Midwestern USA certainly taints my opinion of this sitcom, but it truly does have more poignant, honest moments regarding subject matter most network programs wouldn't dare broach.

A sitcom about 2 annoying fat fucks who have manufactured problems that you never really care about. Roseanne is one of the worst comedians of all time and her show was a direct reflection of how talentless she was. Definetely in the conversation for worst sitcom of all time

Occasionally annoying, but often an insightful look into working-class America.

Watched it a lot as a kid and it was a rare slice of American working-class life on British TV in the 90's. Roseanne is and was unbearably annoying, but the show was okay.

Rosanne is incredibly annoying, but definitely had a knack for capturing some realistic moments in middle class America. Not my cup of tea, but certainly better than a lot of comedies from this period.
