The Eastern and Western styles are better blended together here than they were in the shitfest "Ninja Assassin" but it still just feels like the Americanization of a good genre with all the movie cliches you can think of thrown in, complete with racism and over-reliance on CGI. Thankfully, the last half is a LOT better, with the action actually being pretty enjoyable. The soundtrack's great, Geoffrey Rush and Danny Huston give great performances but it's still just dumb fun (for the most part).

Truth be told I wanted to see this movie due to epic quote from trailer (Ninjas...DAMN!). Well there isn't in movie though. Shame, cause it's got style. And they should have added pirates at some point.

A live-action anime. If that sounds like fun, you'd be correct. If that sounds freaking stupid, you'd also be correct. Also provides a ridiculous amount of Chow Yun Fat homage - I thought I had checked into the Peace Hotel.

could have been much more. there are very decent tendencies. the cinematography during the action scenes is awesome and reminds me of good old anime gorefests. the "samurai carrying a baby across the land, killing everyone along the way" had an instant cult-flavour to it. and then he gets to the US and the story goes hollywood. kate bosworth annoys me more with each passing second of screentime, every other character is shallow, chlichéd and boring, except for the disfigured mask-wearing dude.

The Warrior's Way could have been an enjoyable B-movie destined to find a cult to follow it. However, without any sort of ambitions or even content beyond a few lackluster action scenes, there's nothing to take from it, good or bad. It's a boring, low-budget-looking action movie that not only has as many Western clichés as it could fit, but also as many Asian ones, too. It is a very unenjoyable movie and you have no reason to seek it out.

Felt like a bad anime adaptation. Not sure why there were so many bad caricatures. Even Kate Bosworth's character is silly. The whole thing looks like it was shot with a green screen. Points for being very stylized. More of a romance (or any depth to the characters) would have been nice. Fav scene: mowing down enemies in the hotel corridor.

An Asian assassin goes into hiding the American Old West, only for his enemies to pursue him. This is a prime example of style over substance, scene after scene of actors striking goofy poses, all smothered in fake looking CGI. The actual action is pretty crap, since it's really just there to show off slow motion shots of bodies spinning through the air as blood splashes artistically out of them. The cowboys vs ninjas finale was fun for a few minutes, but this was mostly a disappointment.

It was a pretty decent ninja-cowboy-cinematic orgy, pretty enjoyable, as one does. Pretty shots, amazing action scenes, and a decent selection of one-liners made me enjoy this one.

I'm not familiar with that kind of anime genre. For me it was just disastrously boring. It did not find the way to be a comedy or a serious fantasy action. And the story. Wow! Is it really possible that somebody wrote it down and even found producer for it? There was no pacing what so ever. And I really hated the constant CGI. All points for Geoffrey Rush.

Horrible green screen. Without the appropriate music and the comedy touches, mainly involving the baby, this easily could be taken for Jonah Hex 2 or something. Now it is just slightly better.

Epic. Sort of Afro Samurai without all the annoyance or Lone Wolf and Cub but in style.

It's ultimately shallow, but I can't say I didn't enjoy myself while watching this. It's an East meets West action romp with a very Zach Snyder-y type of visual style. Odds are you won't love it, but if you just sit back and let it the movie do it's thing you probably won't hate it either...assuming you like this sort of thing.

Dumb yet stylish fun. A lot better than last year's Ninja Assassin. I also actually liked the relationship between Dong-gun Jang and Kate Bosworth, which is more than I can say for 95% of action movie love stories these days (even ones in otherwise excellent films like The Dark Knight).

Takes the silent lone hero genre of yesteryear and gives it a fresh lick of paint. This is a modern homage on the genre that knows its roots well and pays homage to them in a light-hearted way without ever becoming a parody. I was pleasantly surprised and constantly entertained throughout. My only gripe is that, while beautiful, much of the film was too heavily stylised.

It comes down to this: the western stuff is alright but the eastern influence, with all the ridiculous ninjas and their cg blood, sucks. Rush as the drunk guy was, surprisingly, no fun, either. You would think that he'd had the chance to learn a thing or two on the 'Pirates' set, right? Huston gives an impressively dreadful performance. Please stop typecasting him as a baddie. So it's up to beautiful Bosworth to save the day. And so she almost does, going all out as a trashy gal set on revenge.

I always seem to enjoy a clash of East and West, and it's got the gore of Kill Bill, and the total gooberness of Kung Fu Hustle. Kind of drags in the middle, but the action's ridiculous enough to keep your attention.

Way over the top Samurai western with Jang Dong Gun and Kate Bosworth. Lots of sword play, gun fights. Very stylistic and lots of slow motion. The cast of characters was odd and the plot and script were full of holes, but still good fun to watch with tons of gore and killing. Some aspects of a love story, but underutilized. Music was good.

Excellent film, most of those criticizing it probably believe the movie is taking it self seriously, which it is obviously not. Its alot lke From dusk till dawn meets Ninja assassin. Excellent film Ninjas, cowboys, bearded women, midgets, and the most adorable asian baby ive ever seen. Would definitely watch again.
