I never thought I'd see a 2010 movie worse than Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland, but here we are. You see, I was collapsed on the couch, this was on, and the remote control was so far away. After the initial pain subsided and my senses were officially numb, there was something oddly watchable about how astoundingly bad the movie is. I want to single out the kids, but really all of the acting in this is terrible. All 5 points are for the juvenile giggles I got when people call Jackie "Agent Ho".

Lacking a script funny enough to cover up for Jackie Chan's fading physical gifts, The Spy Next Door fails on every conceivable level

Pure, unrefined garbage. I feel sorry for Jackie Chan for appearing in this and the life choices he made to think this was a good idea.

I'm more generous with kid's movies. I guess some would find it entertaining, it's sort of harmless despite the fighting, and the acting fits the level of the humour. No adult got slimed, no fart joke, not too much screaming either so it beats many kids comedies. Fans of Jackie Chan and adults, don't take it seriously else you might be angry.

Viewed March 21, 2021. Somehow screws up a true home-run premise: Jackie Chan tries to convince some kids to like him. Can't really even see kids getting much out of this.

If you go into this knowing what you are in for this isn't too bad. This is one in the long line of shitty kid's movie that at least don't piss me off when I watch them. Jackie is decent but seems miscast and out of place much like the action scenes the rest of it is just semi amusing silly crap similar to "The Three Ninjas", "The Pacifier", or even "Kindergarten Cop" Kid's films are rarely good but some are at least tolerable.

Predictable but also really funny in few moments. The kids are ok, especially the youngest one...

Yeah, it's a silly movie - but once you accept that, it's OK.

First, lower your expectations. This is a corny kids' movie with some Jackie Chan choreography, predictable kids'-movie plot, and B-movie acting. Not something you'd watch twice, but a reasonably entertaining B-movie.

I hate when kids overcome the bad guys but it wasn't bad in many other senses.

The makers of The Spy Next Door should give 50 percent of their profits to James Cameron for ripping off "True Lies." Let's see, what's 50 percent of nothing?

"Following in Mr. Nanny and The Pacifier's turgid footsteps, Brian Levant's film mushifies Chan into a comedic parody of his rock-'em-sock-'em big-screen persona." - Nick Schager

It sucks. The acting sucks and the characters sucks. The story is really predictable and family oriented. It's half painful but if you put your mind to it it might offer you a bit of escapism.

Jackie Chan is great in this film as always, there a number of fun scenes and stunts. However the script is lame, it makes for a lackluster children's film. Some of the scenes with the children are uninspired. Overall this film is disappointing.

Not good. In fact, The Soy Next Door is very bad on so many levels. Kids should have fun but for most this is just something to add to the bad Jackie Chan collection rather than the good Jackie Chan collection.

Spy Next Door is light on action. When it does happen, it's well shot action slapstick with no one getting seriously harmed. My son loved, loved, loved it. Chan is charming enough to get you through The Spy Next Door. Without kids, there's no reason to watch it more than once, and even my boy probably won't be asking for this one again.

Action comedy about an undercover spy who winds up minding his girlfriend's three children and then must protect them from his archenemy, a Russian terrorist. The stunts are a mild highlight in Jackie Chan's ultra-predictable family comedy... Chan's traditional gag reel that rolls with the final credits offers the most entertainment.

This was like Jackie Chan's "Pacifier" not quiet as good, a little bit more corny, but it has similarities.

Perhaps a stupid plot, but it is wonderful in that it is a recent Jackie Chan movie where he clearly actualy does the stunts instead of just using computer graphics!
