Tough to rate. I want Burr to get more opportunities because he is one of my favorite comedians, but this is kinda rough on the comedy side. Lots of jokes miss. There are some great jokes, but a rough amount of misses.

The drawings are great and there are some good jokes, but in how many incarnations can we watch "All in the Family"? I think the one saving grace is that Mr. Burr is directly tapping into his childhood and nobody tries to protect us from the balls out cussing and in-your-face reality of a working class 70's family.

It's basically an animated show serving as long overdue therapy for Bill Burr's childhood, now that he himself is raising young children. Unfortunately it's only Burr's central dad character that is hilarious (as well as Rockwell impersonating Matthew McConnaughey), so it really depends on how much mileage you get out of him.

Not as funny as I'd hoped, but I liked to watch it simply because it shows what it was like to be a frustrated dad in the '70s, which I personally dig for some voyeuristic reason. I'm glad I kept watching, as the show got funnier half way through (but not better). Bill Burr actually does a pretty good with his voice work, I'm hoping he can inject some more of his humour into the second season.

It's not top animated fare by any means, but its still got enough laughs to make it something worth binge watching when you have burned through your top tier comedy stuff.

Aside from a bit of pacing issues here and there, this show's very good. The humor and biting observation of the world is razor-sharp. I went into this not expecting much and I got a lot more than I expected. It's graphic in language and even visuals from time to time. But it succeeds in detailing the struggles of this family in the 1970s.

Occasionally funny but the writing is often too on the nose for my liking and the structure/plotlines the show utilizes have been done to death. I don't find its perception of the world all that enlightening since its observations are mostly surface level shit that comes across as tepid despite how abrasive the show is. Bill Burr is an entertaining personality but everyone else is a charisma vacuum who are as entertaining to watch as dry paint.

I didnt know how to take the show at first and so it sat in my queue for a long time. I loved Bill Burr before this, so I couldnt figure it out what I wasnt getting. After giving it more of a chance, I rank this show up there with Bojack horseman in quality. This american family feels real, feels like my family, I've had alot of these fights myself...I dont know how well that speaks about my family that its relatable to a fictional cartoon show, but what ya gonna do?

Rather awkwardly paced and presented with inconsistent writing ranging from bad to okay. I hoped for a lot more coming from a Bill Burr led animated show.

Something like a more serialized, more profane King of the Hill with three kids instead of one and the gimmick switched from "Texas" to "1973." I honestly enjoyed the hell out of it and look forward to seeing more in the future. Completely worthwhile (and very quick) watch for any animated sitcom fan. I might even watch season 1 again in a few months.

Carefully crafted and a an ultimately warm portrayal of family life. In its best moments it is very good indeed, albeit pacing issues and lulls in quality do occur over the seasons.

It's a really honest and ultimately loving portrayal of family life. There's at least one laugh out loud moment in every episode but yet the show doesn't feel as fleshed out as it needs to be. I imagine this will get better with more episodes but currently it's lacking a bit. The amount of familiar voices that keep popping up is crazy and Sam Rockwell and Justin Long both embody their characters perfectly.

A watered down Married with Children but with tons of profanity. Bill Burr is one of my favorite people in the entertainment business, but his Frank Murphy is no Al Bundy! Would like to see more though, as Season 1 is only 6 episodes.
