I was intrigued for the first several episodes, but then the show did something that really pissed me off and I quit watching. From what I've read about future seasons, I made the right choice.

Just like Lost, this started with a pretty solid first season, and then went completely to shit before the second season resolved. It got to the point where I no longer had any interest in watching it.

s1: 80 s2: 70 s3: 60 s4: gave up Main problems with the show: #1 It's insanely slow, barely anything happens in the episode, had to watch it on 1.5x speed #2 The later seasons have convoluted plot, things just happen off screen #3 every season introduces more ex-machinas and random obstacles for our heros to slow them down etc. #4 too many fake deaths

I actually think this show was better than most people give it credit for. Of course everybody loves the first season and rightly so, but there's still a lot the show did right in its other seasons. Unfortunately it got cut short because of the writer's strike and that ultimately doomed it. It sucks that Heroes Reborn wasn't able to bring everybody back to resolve the leftover plot lines either, which also made that show less interesting as a result as well.

Many years ago I thought the first season was okay, though I don't know if I'd still like it on rewatch.

S1 is one of my favourite shows ever. S2 kinda sucks, S3 was barely passable but I still drew some enjoyment from it. S4 was pretty good. I'm giving it a 95 because if I ever make a list of my top shows, I want Heroes to be near the top of my ratings here. I know it makes no sense, but basically I'm just rating this show on S1, knocking 5 points off for the other seasons. Anyway, S1 weaved together all its elements wonderfully, S2 wasn't thought out, 3 and 4 were better but not great.

I enjoyed the first two seasons of Heroes (yes even the 2nd), but the longer the show went on, the more it undermined what made it special in the first place. The 1st season had a compelling mystery and interesting characters and great TV pacing that left you wanting more each week. Partly due to the infamous writer's strike, and in part due to the stretching out the concept and clinging to certain characters, later seasons just felt slower and more contrived.

This would have been a 100 had it ended at the first season. Those who say the quality dipped after the first are correct for the most part. Having said that, the actors are all still great and some of the story threads keep things interesting enough for the casual viewer.

"Save the cheerleader. Save the world." It was meant to be an intriguing catchphrase but it just annoyed me. I don't like being led around by the nose even when there's a twist to it. This show started to degrade quickly, and it lost its audience. Not worth it.

Season 1 was a good attempt at making a superhero show, which has been greatly surpassed since. (season 1)

An amazing score for the first season which I absolutely loved. Too bad this series got so bad I actually wanted it to end.

One of the more frustrating squanderings of potential this side of Lost. First season I mostly really enjoyed, with cool powers, a plot that gradually brought the cast together, and "Company Man," one of the ten best TV episodes of 2007. Everything after that ranged from dull to disappointing to actively, aggressively awful. Sylar went from cool villain to annoying hanger-on who should have died dozens of episodes ago. I did like Hiro the whole way through, even when he got shit stories.

Held a very average first season only to be muddled by future seasons which made the show into a convoluted mess. The fact that they felt the need to maintain the same protagonists constantly throughout each season was completely asinine, especially since they tend to overshadow the newer characters that were introduced and needlessly prolonged their conflict. It's not a surprise to me that the show got cancelled when it came to the point that it was completely unsalvageable.

[Watched 1st Season] It certainly began as a promising show, good mix of hero genre, drama, mystery, having its faults but well, mostly good. Very quickly when watching 2nd season you start getting bored and thinking they lost purpose, that a one season series would've been a better idea. People that continue after me and having similar taste has basically told me I was right to quit.

I had it pegged as a lame kind of Shyamalan/Lost stinker after the first couple of episodes.
