Once dubbed "The Queen of Indies" by Time Magazine, Parker Posey has acquired a dedicated following thanks to great acting and a fearless choice of roles. She's a favorite of Christopher Guest's mockumentaries (our favorite: Best in Show's high strung Meg Swan) and also has done some supporting roles in blockbusters like Superman Returns

I like a bit of survival/discovery/escape and this does a pretty good job. It's obviously aimed at a younger audience than me but I can switch my kid's brain on while I watch. The characters suffer from a common problem in the world of TV/film - lack of openness. I can't stand it when characters discover something important and decide, for no good reason, not to tell anyone. Not warning your community that they're all about to die is a sign of a shitty scientist!

I really enjoyed this adaptation of Lost in Space. The production is super, and the 1st season is a compelling prequel to what we're familiar and a good survival story on its own. The cast is great adding some diversity without banging you on the head with it constantly. The only member I was/am tentative about is Posey's Dr. Smith who is, up to this point, lacking some of the wry humour. With the seeds planted for season 2, I'm looking forward to see the direction it takes.

It looks like they spent some money on it. Obviously leading with that it means it's not the best series. It drags often on the same extended plots. Some of the characters are supposed to be likable or sympathetic , and are not. I liked the change up with the robot and the doctor. I did not like the forced strained relationship with the parents, which you are reminded of about every five minutes. There are worse things to watch, but you can probably find better.

Sentimentality and cliches regularly threaten to ruin what is a decent sci-fi production. I still recommend it for three reasons: Parker Posey plays one of the most compelling villains I've ever seen; the stuff with the robot is interesting; and the pseudo-science-y bits are engaging.

Got a bit childish near the end seasons but still good

Just did not have the charm of either the original series or that terrible film. It's passable modern sci-fi, and the first several episodes are pretty nail-biting, but the series quickly collapses from there into something I just didn't think was worth continuing to watch.

Charming series with a few flaws. I am biased in favor of sci-fi with empathetic depictions of humanity.

Meet the Robinsons, the unluckiest family in the universe. Everything (I mean EVERY SINGLE THING) they attempt goes wrong somehow. There are storms, hostile robots, hostile humans, landslides, ship-eating creatures, rust, you name it. Yet don't worry, they always pull through in the end and no one dies. I found the series ok. I hated Penny though; she's generally useless and just complains and drops stupid oneliners. She's also a horrible person, yet she's portrayed as desirable and heroic.

Pretty solid sci-fi. I enjoy the characters and locations and mysteries. Dr. Smith is a good villain and the robot is an interesting character as well. Wish this wasn't canceled when it was.

The cgi is nice, I guess a lot of money put into it. For the rest a lame family style serie.

If you're a sucker for 80s E.T.-like kid movies, then this is a great watch. If you're expecting a plot that's better than an 80s action movie, then it isn't. Apparently, I don't care about the latter in this case, because I liked it.

A family drama disguised as a very bad written sci-fi adventure. One so bad that not even its strong and ambitious production values could save.

It's nice seeing a show of mostly smart and kickass women but the plot feels so often written in reverse, full of clever solutions in want of a problem. Also annoying are the numerous times characters fuck up without experiencing real consequences for it.

I'm done after one season, not going to give this show a second chance. The setting could have been interesting, but way too much focus is put on the kids. Can't stand the smartass one. Can't stand the whiny one. Can't stand the robot. Don't like the direction of the plot. Too bad, I liked the idea a lot.

i couldn't make it past the first episode. it's so terribly directed, it's unwatchable. so cornball, it would have played better as high camp.

Such potential. Terrible execution. Yer stranded on an unknown planet with 5 other people and Dr. Smith just wants to do everything possible to screw it up and be the only left behind. Really? I stopped after episode 3. Get rid of Dr. Smith and this goes up to at least a 50.

Great to look at... awful to watch. The special effects are excellent but the script is a crap.

I'm a sucker for this childhood favorite. Some episodes are good, while others are OK. Molly Parker is awesome and owns every scene she's in. Parker Posey seemed like an odd choice for the badly corrupted character of Dr. Smith but makes a good bad girl. Maxwell Jenkins is an excellent Will Robinson. I also really like the two sisters. The daddy Robinson character is a bit too subservient. It has some nice visual effects, CGI and music. Season 2 was even better.

Promising concept, great acting, and high production values are destroyed by horrendous writing. Gaping plot wholes fill every episode. The villain is protected by invulnerable plot armor such that her every whim is guaranteed; one just cringes and grimaces through the whole episode to find out what series of ridiculous coincidences she is gifted. Most of the drama relies on the writers' crutch (no, wheelchair) of people keeping secrets, for no reason, that are vital knowledge for the others.

Not nearly enough going on to justify the ten episodes. The 1998 movie was better. Lack of villain or other motivating force means poor decisions and bad communication generate most of the drama.

Interesting in some ways, more brilliant views of the wilds of BC standing in as the alien planet. I liked most of the cast, mom was irritating.
