A gorgeous hand-drawn animated film about a cat that is a cat burglar as well as being a young girl's best friend. The sincerity of the story line matches the magical visuals.

Beautiful animation, sweet, a bit adventurous story, though the plot was predictable it has got enough twists in the latter half.

The animation has some nice flourishes, but the writing is a bit cliche-ridden. Mind you, I'm not sure how much of that is the English-language dub.

Short but sweet kids' flick with satisfying albeit cartoonish characters, stylish animation, creative art design and neat sound. Doesn't quite rival the likes of Sylvain Chomet or the team behind Secret of Kells, but there is enough talent here that with a bigger budget, longer running time, and deeper story, they could produce something great. Nice, watchable, forgettable.

Well crafted and paced children's film with a charmingly hand made look. A pleasant confection.

cool that i happened to segue from 'the artist' straight into another film where dealing with loss of infancy is paralleled with the process of finding a voice, but the sleek, graceful hand-drawn animation here seems the underlying motivation, boasting far more attention to detail than the comfy, inconsequential narrative. the result is a reasonably elegant, charming vanity piece, but a vanity piece nonetheless.

I like the traditional cartoons, the vibrant but shy colors, and the distorted images, but the story is pretty much bland, with predictable twists and a not very decent flow -- it's 70 minutes long, but it feels like 140.

what a fucking idiot piece of shit film. the entire plot exists because the piece of shit girl won't talk. she's literally about to be dragged off to be murdered and she won't talk. FUCK YOU. it's a pity too because the animation is glorious but oh my god i need something to punch for when plot devices are this bad.

the dialogues were well written, the music splendid and the cat... well, The Cat. the plot's quite predictable, but you've got a thief, a villain, a young girl who hardly speaks and it's Paris at night. what else could you possibly want?

Can't say I'm a fan of the artwork, but loved the characters. The cat is fantastic. Plot is rather predictable with a few decent twists thrown in, and even with the style not being to my taste there was the odd visual twist. Well worth a watch (plus it's only an hour)

This elegantly hand-drawn caper doesn't have a lot to it - a little girl and her cat help break up a Parisian crime ring, un point c'est tout. But it moves to a different rhythm than the animated spectacles we're used to - it's sparer, less hectic, less cute - and the difference feels welcome and refreshing.

Visually, there's not much going on here. The environments are mostly static and lack perspective. The color palate is OK but there isn't much sense of scale. The people have an ugly, cheap look; everyone has the same eyes (even animals!). The plot is bland. The dialogue is either stock or else exposition like 'this is the man who killed your father.' The characters aren't interesting. The villain is a caricature. I do like the symphonic score, and there are bits of nicely fluid animation.

The animation is interesting, if not always pretty, and the music is great. The story is a fairly generic heist plot, but is entertaining enough for younger viewers. Numerous references to classic crime dramas (Goodfellas, Reservoir Dogs, To Catch a Thief & others) make it fun for adults as well, but there's little-to-no rewatch value. The main trio (jewel thief, Zoe & the cat) are the only interesting characters. Still worth a view on a rainy afternoon, considering it's only 70 minutes long.

Super generic and not that great. The animation quality is hit or miss, and the English voice acting was pretty atrocious.

-1 for dog hatred. The film itself is just cute, it didn't wow me.
