In this government documentary short film, a U.S. Navy flight instructor demonstrates to a young pilot trainee the proper methods for taxiing an aircraft at an airfield. He also illustrates proper take-off procedure and many of the common mistakes made during both these activities. The dangers of getting too close to other planes whose engines are running are also show. A young cadet named McDribble is presented with evidence of his failures to follow procedure and given punishment duty.

Robert Taylor asks the studio audience to contribute to the Will Rogers Memorial Hospital in Saranac Lake, NY, where those in the entertainment industry could go for treatment.

Challenge the Wilderness
This MGM short is a promo for their upcoming feature Westward the Women (1951), which was filmed on location in Utah. The film introduces the stars, including Robert Taylor, but focuses primarily on the challenges of filming on location. The rugged countryside provides a beautiful backdrop but provides few facilities for film making. Transportation, on site facilities for rehearsal, eating and daytime shelter all had to be provided. The shoot lasted approximately 8 weeks.
