Correctly points out the straight line that runs through Reagan and Palin. Right wing populism often involves love for a leader that asserts their ignorance without shame

Game Change is not an especially profound or revolutionary docudrama, but it does tell an interesting story about an intriguing presidential running mate very well.

The acting is all over the map here. Moore's performance is astoundingly empathetic, to say nothing of her meticulous replication of Palin's mannerisms. On the other hand, some of her cast mates are downright hokey——the film is at times decidedly more "Hallmark Channel" than "HBO." But it does a good job of humanizing a person that was pretty aggressively dehumanized by the SNL-industrial complex, while still being honest about her obvious shortcomings.

A pretty amateurish movie held together by a fantastic cast. Woody Harrelson rocks and Julianne Moore plays Palin quite well. Harris does alright too, but it doesnt seem like he captures McCain. Otherwise this plays out exactly how you'd expect it to, on a tv budget and as a political drama.

Fascinating look at the 2008 GOP campaign. Moore's portrayal of Palin is one of the most authentic biographical roles I've ever seen.

Should probably be categorized under "horror." Moore generously brings some pathos to Palin, though we all know we're just missing Tina Fey.

Sarah Palin character was tried to strongly depicted as an inferior woman archetype. Therefore, I don't think it reflects the real piss that American politics is really in. Btw, I don't like what HBO generally does that I might be biased about the movie.

Julianne Moore has Sarah Palin down cold, and this has to be one of the best character assassinations I've ever watched. Oh, and Ed Harris is really a one note kind of actor.

for what it was, it was very well done. julianne moore was phenomenal as sarah palin. woody harrelson and ed helms were great in their supporting roles as well. the film was very informative and interesting in terms of highlighting the palin campaign, but felt, at times, too rushed, so that we didn't always understand why characters behaved the way they did. as a tv movie, this is probably the best i've seen. a thoroughly enjoyable and informative watch.

Moore is amazing accounting for most of the fun, the direction has it's beats in the right place. It's perfectly watchable; this coming from a person quiet disinterested in American politics.

Masterful portrait of the 2008 U.S. Presidential election from the losing side, observes the Palin juggernaut with the bemused fascination of a slow-moving train wreck; aided by a compelling, commanding lead performance from Harrelson, and an astonishing one from Moore, whose Palin is by turns pitiable, contemptable and at times terrifying. Harris fares well as McCain, and Paulson is touching as a disillusioned campaign worker...

I didn't think it was nearly as exciting or interesting as Recount (2008), but it was good. Julianne Moore was excellent. Most of the time, I forgot she wasn't Sarah Palin. The rest of the cast were good too. Yeah, if you're interested in the subject, I recommend it.

I should probably be a bigger Julianne Moore fan than I am, but this really is a show stopper. Harrelson is pretty great to watch here. Despite portraying Sarah Palin as erratic and, well, "going rogue," it is surprisingly sympathetic to pretty much each of the major players here. I loved the kid, Piper?, asking her mom to ride the rollercoaster with her. You don't quite know what your asking for, kid.

An HBO movie tackling the subject of Gov. Sarah Palin. I must say that they did a pretty good job not being too offensive, considering I am a pretty strong conservative. I'll give props to Julianne Moore. I would have never thought to cast her as a Sarah Palin over like Tina Fey but she took the role and gave it legitimacy that Fey would have screwed up. I also thought Ed Harris was an amazing McCain and really filled that role perfectly. The movie was dry at times and Lord knows I hate the end.

Truly shocking to see how we came so close to having this ridiculous person as our president. I can accept the fact that politicians (and especially campaign managers) will put their own ambitions above the good of the country, but this was something else. Julianne Moore does an amazing job here. It must have been a fun role to take on.

Julianne Moore's depiction of Sarah Palin is so good at one point I forgot I was watching a movie and not a documentary. My only complaint is that I wish there was more context given for us to understand Palin's often erratic/insane behavior. Oh, and those country music transitions are terrible too.

Does a very admirable job of illustrating what the appeal of Sarah Palin is while still exposing her seriously questionable abilities as a leader of any real sort. Admittedly this isn't a great film but the stellar cast, especially Woody Harrelson, make what could've been a forgettable TV film into something that is most certainly worth watching.

Terrific political docu-drama that shows the way leaders are chosen in our modern world of Celebrity value and "YouTube society." The performances are uniformly outstanding, with Harrelson and Paulson leaving strong impressions and Julianne Moore, who goes beyond mimics to create a fully embodied character.

Full disclosure; I like McCain and I'd rather he won the 2000 primary/election. But by 2008 it was clear he was desperate to do whatever the party told him to do to win. This film reinforces all that. It also takes a good hard look at what's wrong with American politics today and how nobody knows how to stop it. If Steve Schmidt says it's true then there's really no doubt in my mind every red blooded American should see this.

Great acting from Harrelson and especially Moore. Harris could have done more to make his voice sound like McCain's. Rather than a bland retelling of events, what we have here is a modern Frankenstein's monster. At first the experts methodically scour America and select the parts to be animated by the national election limelight. But what comes to life nothing like expectations; as it grows beyond the control of its creator, the monster leaves in its wake a path of destruction, fear and awe.

A condescending pop-politics trifle along the same lines as "W." That Palin was in over her head, and her nomination was the last-ditch effort of a campaign at the end of its rope, is virtually all the commentary offered here, and the writers go far, far too easy on McCain. No one who kept even one eye open during the 2008 election will find anything fresh to sink their teeth into, though Moore is uncanny as Palin and Harrelson's energy is infectious.

I'm not sure it's really saying anything about the 2008 election or offering a point of view that we didn't all already know, but it's entertaining taken at face value. I like how some of the scenes where the Republican staffers realize how little Palin knows are played with the dread and intensity of a horror movie.

As a democratic Canadian, my stance on Palin and the Republican party should be pretty obvious, but I'd be lying if I said that I didn't find Moore's performance of this retarded woman quite sympathetic. In stark contrast to Palin's mental stability, this film is fairly balanced and brings a fresh perspective on the other side of the 2008 campaign.
