I haven't seen this movie, but I hate it anyway because the kid on the box is a douchebag.

A big middle finger to fans of the original, and to the world in general.

I could write a dissertation on how much this movie sucks. I would devote one chapter to suspension of disbelief and how this movie makes no effort to instill it in the audience. One chapter could be about the movie's complete lack of care for the continuity of the first two films. I would include appendices detailing glaring incidents of disregard for the laws of physics, and the back page would have a doodle of a bunny, which would be at least five times funnier than this movie.

That's the first time I'm rating a movie without having watched it, purely out of hate from learning of its existence.

Truly unwatchable. Makes Home Alone 2: Lost in New York look like The Godfather Part II, and the original Home Alone look like some movie so good it doesn't even exist. Not just regular-bad, but genuinely incompetent filmmaking on the most fundamental levels. Could be one of the worst movies I've seen.

There was no reason to make this. If the original were a person, this movie would be kicking it in the balls.

F: Not funny, completely misguided screenplay (seriously, Marv is like 20 now?!) and an overall insult to Christmas movies.

Barely watchable movie... but I think Mike Weinberg does a good job in the main role. But the plot makes the original Home Alone seem believable.

Home Alone 4 is a truly horrible excuse to cash in on the success of the original two films. The third film was pointless but at least it had the decency to separate itself from the beloved originals. It was poor but thankfully forgettable. However this disaster of a fourth film will forever leave a nasty taste as it audaciously recasts the original characters with insulting replacements. Apparently a TV series was set to follow on but unsurprisingly and thankfully it never materialised.

Just plain awful. The whole cast and production crew dishonor what was once a great film franchise.

With the understanding this is a TVM cash-grab designed to breathe life into a franchise that was struggling on life support, this is far from the worst it could have been, but it’s still pretty dire and clunky, with perhaps the most amusing aspect being the down-sizing of the McAllister compound so that the new girlfriend’s digs can look even more expansive by comparison! The recasting across the board doesn’t work – it might have worked better to just use new characters and be done with it.

While HA 3 despite it many flaws still had a few things going for it; a likeable lead, a better excuse to stay home alone, some fun inventive traps, HA 4 has absolutely no redeeming qualities anymore.

Hard to find positives about this one, an extremely obnoxious kid, poor story, bad actors, terrible directing, the only good thing is that it didn't last longer. Unfortunately the first three movie will make this movie attract a bigger audience than it deserves.

Only half-watched this on TV at midnight as I was reading a book, and I had to see for myself just how awful it really was. Well, it's really awful. I mean, it makes no sense. Why is 'Kevin' running away from the burglars in a mansion filled with about 60 guests for some gala, and instead of telling his dad, "Hey, dad, those burglars I had told you about when you didn't believe me? They're literally in the room next to us," he doesn't say anything until...after...they waltz out... OK

I'm not bothered by the flagrant disregard for the Home Alone canon, because nobody in their right mind cares about that. It's everything else that's the problem.

At least 'Home Alone 3' had the decency to have a completely different character and unrelated events from the first two films. Was it good? No, but it wasn't a complete abortion of the franchise either. Apparently this was supposed to launch a TV series, which thankfully never saw light. Ugh. Why/How would Kevin be the same age?! Also French Stewart is worthless in movies. He is supposed to be Marv, originally played by Daniel Stern who turned down the reprise and called it "an insult."

This movie has nothing to do with the first two movies. Awful, it is a nuisance of the beginning to the end. Do not waste time assisting such an unbearable movie.
